A method and an apparatus for notification of a message reception according to a property of a received message are disclosed. A first terminal receives a message transmitted from a second terminal, determines a notification method corresponding to the received message based on a result of the analysis of the received message, and then outputs a notification signal according to the determined notification method.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for an electronic device, comprising: while displaying an outgoing message from the electronic device, displaying a visual user interface element associated with a notification setting for an arrival of a message related to the outgoing message, wherein the notification setting enables a specific notification to be output when the message related to the outgoing message is received by the electronic device; and setting the notification setting for the arrival of the message related to the outgoing message through a user input with respect to the visual user interface element. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the outgoing message is being drafted. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: outputting the specific notification in response to the arrival of the message related to the outgoing message. 4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising: outputting a normal notification when a message which is not the message related to the displayed outgoing message is received. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the normal notification is different from the specific notification. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the outgoing message comprises one of a short message, a multimedia message, and an email message. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message related to the outgoing message comprises a reply to the outgoing message. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the specific notification comprises at least one of sound notification, haptic notification, and visual notification. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the specific notification is configured according to one or more user-selected option. 10. A method for an electronic device, comprising: receiving a message by a communication unit of the electronic device; determining whether the message is related to specific outgoing message which was sent from the electronic device, the electronic device being set to output a specific notification in response to receiving a message related to the specific outgoing message; outputting the specific notification if the message is related to the specific outgoing message; and outputting a normal notification if the message is not related to the specific outgoing message. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the normal notification is different from the specific notification. 12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the message comprises a reply to the specific outgoing message, and also comprises one of a short message, a multimedia message, and an email message. 13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the specific notification comprises at least one of a sound notification, a haptic notification, and a visual notification. 14. The method of claim 10 , wherein a configuration of the specific notification is set according to one or more user-selected options. 15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the electronic device is set, based on a user input associated with the specific outgoing message, to output the specific notification in response to receiving the message related to the specific outgoing message. 16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the electronic device is set when the specific outgoing message is being drafted, based on a user input associated with the specific outgoing message, to output the specific notification in response to receiving the message related to the specific outgoing message. 17. An electronic device, comprising: a communication unit; a display unit; an input unit; and a controller configured to: while an outgoing message from the electronic device is displayed on the display unit, control the display unit to display a visual user interface element associated with a notification setting for an arrival of a message related to the outgoing message, wherein the notification setting enables a specific notification to be output when the message related to the outgoing message is received via the communication unit, and set the notification setting for the arrival of the message related to the outgoing message through a user input with respect to the visual user interface element. 18. The electronic device of claim 17 , wherein the outgoing message is being drafted. 19. The electronic device of claim 17 , further comprising: a notification unit, wherein the controller is configured to control the notification unit to output the specific notification in response to the arrival of the message related to the outgoing message. 20. The electronic device of claim 19 , wherein the controller is configured to control the notification unit to output a normal notification when a message which is not the message related to the displayed outgoing message is received. 21. The electronic device of claim 20 , wherein the normal notification is different from the specific notification. 22. The electronic device of claim 17 , wherein the outgoing message comprises one of a short message, a multimedia message, and an email message. 23. The electronic device of claim 17 , wherein the message related to the outgoing message comprises a reply to the outgoing message. 24. The electronic device of claim 17 , wherein the specific notification comprises at least one of sound notification, haptic notification, and visual notification. 25. The electronic device of claim 24 , wherein the specific notification is configured according to one or more user-selected option. 26. An electronic device, comprising: a communication unit; a notification unit; and a controller configured to: determine whether a message received via the communication unit is related to a specific outgoing message which was sent from the electronic device, the controller being set to control the notification unit to output a specific notification in response to receiving a message related to the specific outgoing message; control the notification unit to output the specific notification if the received message is related to the specific outgoing message; and control the notification unit to output a normal notification if the received message is not related to the specific outgoing message. 27. The electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the normal notification is different from the specific notification. 28. The electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the message comprises a reply to the specific outgoing message, and also comprises one of a short message, a multimedia message, and an email message. 29. The electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the specific notification comprises at least one of a sound notification, a haptic notification, and a visual notification. 30. The electronic device of claim 26 , wherein a configuration of the specific notification is set according to one or more user-selected options. 31. The electronic device of claim 26 , further comprising: an input unit, wherein the specific notification in response to receiving the message related to the specific outgoing message is set by the controller based on a user input via the input unit associated with the specific outgoing message. 32. The electronic device of claim 26 , further comprising: an input unit, wherein the specific notification is set by user input when the specific outgoing message is being drafted, via the input unit. 33.
