An area light source device has a transfer-molded optical member, and a light source disposed in a position facing at least one of end faces of the optical member. Light incident to the optical member from the light source is output through a light exit surface of the optical member. A cutting back clearance portion is provided in at least one of corner portions of the end face of the optical member.

What is claimed is: 1. A resin sheet producing method comprising: cutting an end face of a transfer-molded resin sheet with a cutting part, wherein the cutting part comprises a rotating axis which is parallel with the end face of the resin sheet, wherein the cutting part cuts the resin sheet in a straight line along the end face and moves toward a cutting back clearance portion provided in a corner portion of the end face, and wherein the cutting back clearance portion has a predetermined angle with respect to the end face to be cut, and performing, via a mirror finish part, mirror finish to the end face of the resin sheet cut with the cutting part, wherein the mirror finish part includes a turn axis that is orthogonal to the end face of the resin sheet and a mirror finish edge that is provided in a side surface of the mirror finish part facing the end face. 2. The resin sheet producing method according to claim 1 , wherein the cutting back clearance portion is a tapered surface. 3. The resin sheet producing method according to claim 2 , further comprising: rotating a cutting edge provided in an outer peripheral surface of the cutting part. 4. The resin sheet producing method according to claim 1 , further comprising: rotating a cutting edge provided in an outer peripheral surface of the cutting part. 5. The resin sheet producing method according to claim 1 , further comprising: providing a dummy sheet in at least one surface of the stacked resin sheets, wherein the mirror finish edge performs cutting toward the dummy sheet.
