A composite material comprises a plurality of springs forming a structure embedded within a polymer. Each spring is interwoven with at least one other spring thereby forming an entirely polymer-coated structure.

What is claimed: 1. A composite material comprising a plurality of springs forming a structure embedded within polyurethane, each spring being interwoven with at least one other spring thereby forming an entirely polyurethane-coated structure, the composite material forming a toroidal carcass structure extending about an entire circumference of a non-pneumatic tire, each spring including a first end portion, a second end portion, and an arching middle portion interconnecting the first end portion and the second end portion, each first end portion being secured to a first annular bead and each second portion being secured to a second annular bead, the first and second annular beads both being seated to a wheel rim such that the toroidal carcass structure is secured to the wheel rim wherein the springs are elliptical.
