The present invention provides compounds useful for treating or preventing a brain-related disease or disorder. The present invention further provides a method of treating or preventing a brain-related disease or disorder in a patient, the method comprising administering to the patient a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one compound of the invention. The present invention further provides a method of modulating the activity of a monoamine transporter.

What is claimed is: 1. A compound of Formula (III): wherein in Formula (III), ring A is triazinoindolyl optionally substituted with 1-4 R 1 groups; each occurrence of R 1 is independently selected from the group consisting of —C 1 -C 6 alkyl, —C 1 -C 6 fluoroalkyl, —C 1 -C 6 heteroalkyl, F, Cl, Br, and I; R 2 is selected from the group consisting of H and C 1 -C 6 alkyl; R 3 is selected from the group consisting of —S(═O) 2 R 4 and —C(═O)R 4 ; phenyl which is optionally substituted with one or two substituents selected from the group consisting of C 1 -C 6 alkyl, OH, C 1 -C 6 alkoxy, halo, amino, acetamido and nitro; and x is an integer from 0-4; a salt or solvate thereof, and any combinations thereof. 2. The compound of claim 1 , which is N-[4-({2-[(8-ethyl-5H-[1,2,4]triazino[5,6-b]indol-3-yl)sulfanyl]ethyl}sulfamoyl) phenyl]acetamide, a salt thereof, a solvate thereof, and any combinations thereof. 3. A pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising the compound of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein ring A is 8-ethyl-5H[1,2,4]triazine[5,6-b]indol3-yl. 5. The compound of claim 1 , wherein each occurrence of R 1 is independently selected from the group consisting of —C 1 -C 6 alkyl, —C 1 -C 6 fluoroalkyl and —C 1 -C 6 heteroalkyl. 6. The compound of claim 5 , wherein each occurrence of R 1 is independently —C 1 -C 6 alkyl. 7. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 2 is H. 8. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 3 is —S(═O) 2 R 4 . 9. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 4 is 4-acetamidophenyl.
