This disclosure relates to medical fluid cassettes and related systems and methods. In certain aspects, a medical fluid cassette includes a base having a first region and a second region, a first membrane overlying the first region of the base, and a second membrane overlying the second region of the base. The second membrane is configured to rebound away from the base when a force used to press the second membrane toward the base is released.

What is claimed is: 1. A medical fluid cassette, comprising: a base having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, the base comprising a first region comprising at least one channel recessed into the first side of the base, the base further comprising a second region comprising a pump recess; a first flexible membrane positioned on the first side of the base so as to overlie the at least one channel, the first membrane configured to cooperate with the at least one channel to form at least one fluid pathway on the first side of the base, the fluid pathway formed with and between a surface of the base and the first flexible membrane, the first flexible membrane surrounding a peripheral portion of the pump recess on the first side of the base; and a second flexible membrane positioned on the first side of the base so as to overlie the pump recess to form a fluid pump chamber on the first side of the base, the fluid pump chamber formed with and between the surface of the base and the second flexible membrane, the second membrane having a flexibility that allows the second membrane to be depressed toward the second region of the base so as to substantially conform to the pump recess to expel fluid from the fluid pump chamber, and the second membrane being more resilient than the first membrane and being configured to elastically rebound away from the base when a force used to press the second membrane toward the base is released to permit dialysis solution to be drawn into the pump recess. 2. The medical fluid cassette of claim 1 , wherein the first region of the base comprises a plurality of dome shaped recesses, wherein the at least one channel fluidly couples at least one dome-shaped recess in the plurality of dome-shaped recesses to at least one other dome-shaped recess in the plurality of dome-shaped recesses, and wherein the first membrane is configured to cooperate with the plurality of dome-shaped recesses and the at least one fluid channel to form the at least one fluid pathway on the first side of the base. 3. The medical fluid cassette of claim 2 , wherein a fluid-tight seal is formed between a peripheral region of the second membrane and the base. 4. The medical fluid cassette of claim 3 , wherein the second membrane comprises a dome-shaped portion. 5. The medical fluid cassette of claim 3 , wherein the medical fluid cassette further comprises a first ring that is secured to the second membrane and compresses the second membrane against the base. 6. The medical fluid cassette of claim 5 , further comprising a second ring disposed on the second side of the base opposite the second membrane, the second ring secured to the first ring in a manner to cause the first ring to compress the second membrane against the base. 7. The medical fluid cassette of claim 3 , wherein the second membrane is attached to the portion of the base that surrounds the recessed region. 8. The medical fluid cassette of claim 1 , wherein the first membrane defines an aperture that is aligned with the second region of the base, and the second membrane is at least partially disposed within the aperture of the first membrane. 9. The medical fluid cassette of claim 1 , wherein the first membrane covers substantially an entire surface of the first side of the base. 10. The medical fluid cassette of claim 9 , wherein the second membrane is attached to a portion of the first membrane that overlies the second region of the base. 11. The medical fluid cassette of claim 9 , wherein the second membrane overlies substantially the entire surface of the base. 12. The medical fluid cassette of claim 11 , wherein the second membrane comprises a plurality of cutouts that are aligned with valve regions of the cassette. 13. The medical fluid cassette of claim 1 , wherein the medical fluid cassette is a dialysis fluid cassette. 14. The medical fluid cassette of claim 13 , wherein the medical fluid cassette is a peritoneal dialysis fluid cassette. 15. The medical fluid cassette of claim 1 , wherein the first membrane is configured to flex into the at least one channel to substantially impede fluidly flow through the at least one channel. 16. The medical fluid cassette of claim 15 , wherein the first membrane is in the range of 0.1 micron to 0.150 microns in thickness.
