Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Scanning technology, in which a lift-off signal is generated when an input apparatus is detected as being oriented in a position that is spaced apart from a scan target object. A predetermined threshold time is compared with a continuation time of the received lift-off signal and, when the continuation time of the lift-off signal does not meet the predetermined threshold time, a scanning operation being performed is continued. When the continuation time of the lift-off signal meets the predetermined threshold time, a scanning operation being performed is discontinued.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. An input device, comprising: a function input unit to receive a request for scanning; a scanning unit to obtain a scan image from a target object through a scan area; a communication interface unit to transmit the scan image to a display device; and a control unit coupled with the function input unit, the scanning unit and the communication unit, and configured to: receive a first request for entering a scan mode through a scan button included in the function input unit, enter the scan mode according to the first request, wherein the scan image and a scan box indicating a current scan area are displayed on a scan interface window of the display device in the scan mode, pause a scanning operation to obtain the scan image in response to the input device being located apart from the target object for more than a predetermined threshold distance or time during the scanning operation, receive a second request for switching the scan mode to an edition mode through the scan button, pause the scanning operation according to the second request, and transmit, to the display device, an edition request signal according to the second request, wherein the edition request signal is used for changing the scan interface window being displayed on the display device to an edition interface window for editing the obtained scan image, and wherein the scan box indicating the current scan area is not displayed on the edition interface window. 2. The input device of claim 1 , wherein the control unit outputs a lift-off signal which indicates that the input device is located apart from the target object more than the predetermined threshold distance. 3. The input device of claim 2 , wherein the control unit outputs the lift-off signal in response to the input device being located apart from the target object more than the predetermined threshold time. 4. The input device of claim 1 , wherein the input device is a mouse having a scan function. 5. The input device of claim 1 , wherein the function input unit further includes a wheel to zoom in the scan image or to zoom out the scan image on the edition interface window. 6. A method, comprising: receiving, by a function input unit of an input device, a first request for entering a scan mode, wherein the function input unit includes a scan button to receive the first request; entering, by the input device, the scan mode according to the first request; obtaining, by the input device, a scan image of a target object through a scan area of the input device, wherein the scan image a scan box indicating a current scan area are displayed on a scan interface window of the display device in the scan mode; pausing a scanning operation to obtain the scan image in response to the input device being located apart from the target object for more than a predetermined threshold distance or time during the scanning operation; receiving a second request for switching the scan mode to an edition mode through the scan button; pausing the scanning operation according to the second request; and transmitting, to the display device, an edition request signal according to the second request, wherein the edition request signal is used for changing the scan interface window being displayed on the display device to an edition interface window for editing the obtained scan image on the display device, and wherein the scan box indicating the current scan area is not displayed on the edition interface window. 7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: outputting a lift-off signal which indicates that the input device is located apart from the target object more than the predetermined threshold distance. 8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: outputting a lift-off signal in response to the input device being located apart from the target object more than the predetermined threshold time. 9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the input device is a mouse having the scan function. 10. The method of claim 6 , wherein the function input unit further includes a wheel to zoom in the scan image or to zoom out the scan image on the edition interface window. 11. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having a processing program stored thereon, wherein the processing program is configured to cause a processor of a device to perform: receiving a signal for displaying a scan interface window from an input device having a scanning function, displaying, on a screen, the scan interface window for displaying a scanning operation in response to the received signal, receiving a scan image from the input device, displaying the received scan image and a scan box indicating a current scan area on the scan interface window, continuing to display the scanning operation if the input device is not located apart from the target object for more than a predetermined threshold distance or time during the scanning operation, receiving, from the input device, an edition request signal, wherein the edition request signal is used for changing the scan interface window to an edition interface window for editing the obtained scan image on the display device, and displaying the edition interface window in response to the edition request signal, wherein the scan box indicating the current scan area is not displayed on the edition interface window.
