An LED lamp includes a plurality of LED modules arranged in direction x, a tubular enclosure for housing the LED modules that is open at ends spaced from each other in direction x, and end caps respectively closing the ends of the tubular enclosure in direction x. Each of the end caps is configured to diffuse light from the LED modules while transmitting the light, and includes an emission surface for emitting light in a direction z perpendicular to direction x. This arrangement ensures that the LED lamp has a good appearance even when it is made long.

The invention claimed is: 1. An LED lighting apparatus comprising: a rectangular substrate having a first surface and a second surface that are spaced apart from each other in a thickness direction of the substrate; a plurality of LED units disposed on the first surface of the substrate and arranged along a longitudinal direction of the substrate; a control circuit disposed on a side of the second surface of the substrate and electrically connected to the plurality of LED units; a translucent cover that covers the plurality of LED units and is configured to allow passage of light emitted from the LED units, the translucent cover comprising a first cover portion and two second cover portions, the first cover portion being elongated in the longitudinal direction, facing the first surface of the substrate and having two ends spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction, each of the two second cover portions extending in a width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and being connected to a corresponding one of the two ends of the first cover portion; and a support mount including two side portions that are spaced apart from each other in the width direction and cover at least a part of the control circuit, one of the two side portions having, a first inclined surface, the other of the two side portions having a second inclined surface, each of the first and the second inclined surfaces being elongated in the longitudinal direction and nonparallel to the first surface of the substrate, wherein the support mount is made of a material that blocks the light emitted from the plurality of LED units. 2. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the two side portions of the support mount flank the substrate as viewed in the thickness direction of the substrate. 3. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of LED units has a light emitting surface and a side surface connected to the light emitting surface at right angles, and at least a part of the side surface overlaps with the two side portions of the support mount as viewed in the width direction. 4. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the translucent cover has a protruding portion that is offset from the two side portions of the support mount in a proceeding direction of the light emitted from the plurality of LED units. 5. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a distance between the first inclined surface and the second inclined surface in the width direction becomes longer as proceeding in a direction normal to the second surface of the substrate. 6. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising: a power wiring electrically connected to the control circuit; and a connector electrically connected to the power wiring. 7. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit comprises a power conversion unit for adjusting power supplied to the plurality of LED units. 8. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the translucent cover diffuses the light emitted from the plurality of LED units. 9. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein at least a part of the first cover portion is curved with respect to the first surface of the substrate. 10. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first cover portion is milk-white. 11. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first cover portion comprises two engagement edges elongated in the longitudinal direction, and each of the two engagement edges protrudes toward the other one of the two engagement edges. 12. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the first cover portion has a center region facing the plurality of LED units and elongated in the longitudinal direction, and the plurality of LED units are offset with respect to the two engagement edges toward the center region of the first cover portion in the thickness direction of the substrate. 13. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first and the second inclined surfaces comprises a portion that avoids overlapping with the first cover portion as viewed in the thickness direction of the substrate. 14. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first and the second inclined surfaces comprises an inner edge and an outer edge that are elongated in the longitudinal direction and parallel to each other as viewed in the thickness direction of the substrate, and a distance between the inner edge and the outer edge in the width direction is greater than a distance between the inner edge and the outer edge in the thickness direction of the substrate. 15. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of LED units are grouped into a plurality of rows each extending in the longitudinal direction. 16. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of LED units comprises an LED chip and a sealing member covering the LED chip. 17. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the support mount is made of a metal. 18. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a support member directly supporting the substrate, wherein the translucent cover is attached to the support member. 19. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 18 , wherein the support member is attached to the support mount. 20. The LED lighting apparatus according to claim 18 , wherein the support member is made of a metal.
