The invention is claimed as follows: 1. A dialysis system comprising: a first home dialysis machine located at a first patient's home; a second home dialysis machine located at a second patient's home; a first modem in data communication with the first home dialysis machine; a second modem in data communication with the second home dialysis machine; a clinician server associated with a dialysis center, the dialysis center located remotely from the first and second home dialysis machines; a first clinician computer in data communication with the clinician server; a second clinician computer in data communication with the clinician server, the first and second clinician computers each configured to participate in the optimization and selection of at least one machine operating prescription; a dialysis center modem in data communication with the clinician server; and a network in data communication with the first modem, the second modem and the dialysis center modem, such that the machine operating prescription for a patient by either clinician computer can be delivered over the network to and operated on the first or second home dialysis machine, whichever is associated with the patient. 2. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein the network is an internet, wide area network, or local area network. 3. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first or second clinician computers is located within the dialysis center. 4. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first home dialysis machine, the second home dialysis machine, or the clinician server is in wireless communication with the respective first modem, second modem or third modem. 5. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first home dialysis machine, the second home dialysis machine, or the clinician server is in wired communication with the respective first modem, second modem or third modem. 6. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first or second home dialysis machines is a home peritoneal dialysis machine. 7. The dialysis system of claim 1 , which includes a doctor's computer in data communication with a doctor's office modem, and wherein the network is in further data communication with the doctor's office modem. 8. The dialysis system of claim 7 , which includes two-way communication between the home dialysis machines, the clinician computers and the doctor's computer. 9. The dialysis system of claim 1 , which includes inventory tracking software stored at the dialysis center. 10. The dialysis system of claim 1 , which includes a service center connected to the network that tracks problems associated with the first and second home dialysis machines and/or provides new equipment for the first and second home dialysis machines. 11. The dialysis system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first or second home dialysis machines is in data communication with at least one of a blood pressure monitor or a weight scale. 12. The dialysis system of claim 1 , which is configured to require the machine operating prescription to be accepted by the patient. 13. A dialysis system comprising: a first home dialysis machine located at a first patient's home; a second home dialysis machine located at a second patient's home; a first network connection apparatus in data communication with the first home dialysis machine; a second network connection apparatus in data communication with the second home dialysis machine; a clinician server located remotely from the first and second home dialysis machines; a first clinician computer in data communication with the clinician server; a second clinician computer in data communication with the clinician server, the first and second clinician computers each configured to participate in the optimization and selection of at least one machine operating prescription; a dialysis center network connection apparatus in data communication with the clinician server; and a network in data communication with the first network connection apparatus, the second network connection apparatus and the dialysis center network connection apparatus, such that the machine operating prescription for a patient by either clinician computer can be delivered over the network to and operated on the first or second home dialysis machine, whichever is associated with the patient. 14. The dialysis system of claim 13 , wherein at least one of the first dialysis center network connection apparatus, the second dialysis center network connection apparatus, or the dialysis center network connection apparatuses includes a modem. 15. The dialysis system of claim 13 , which is configured to require the machine operating prescription to be accepted by the patient. 16. A dialysis system comprising: a first home dialysis machine located at a first patient's home; a second home dialysis machine located at a second patient's home; a first clinician server associated with a first dialysis center, the first clinician server located remotely from the first and second home dialysis machines; a first clinician computer in data communication with the first clinician server; a second clinician computer in data communication with the first clinician server, the first and second clinician computers communicating with the first clinician server each configured to participate in the optimization and selection of at least one machine operating prescription; a second clinician server associated with a second dialysis center, the second dialysis center located remotely from the first and second home dialysis machines; a first clinician computer in data communication with the second clinician server; a second clinician computer in data communication with the second clinician server, the first and second clinician computers communicating with the second clinician computer each configured to participate in the optimization and selection of at least one machine operating prescription; and a network in data communication with the first home dialysis machine, the second home dialysis machine, the first clinician server and the second clinician server, such that any of the machine operating prescriptions for a patient by any of the clinician computers can be delivered over the network to and operated on the first or second home dialysis machine, whichever is associated with the patient. 17. The dialysis system of claim 16 , wherein at least one of the first clinician server, the first clinician computer in data communication with the first clinician server, or second clinician computer in data communication with the first clinician server is located at the first dialysis center. 18.
