Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An electronic device and a method for controlling photographic capture. A first image is acquired by a first camera having a first viewing angle. A second image is acquired by a second camera having a second viewing angle, the second viewing angle being different from the first viewing angle. The first image is overlaid with at least one object from the second image, or an icon corresponding to the object. The first camera and the second camera are mounted to a same surface, or to disparate surfaces relative to one another. Photographic capture or control is triggered in response to movement of the object.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method of controlling a camera, the method comprising: acquiring a first image through a first camera having a first viewing angle; acquiring a second image through a second camera having a second viewing angle different from the first viewing angle; recognizing at least one object in the second image; overlaying the first image with an icon corresponding to the recognized at least one object; and displaying the overlaid first image and the icon on a display, wherein the first camera and the second camera are mounted to a same surface of an electronic device. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second viewing angle is larger than the first viewing angle, further comprising: recognizing a movement of the at least one object in the second image. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising photographing the first image in response to recognizing a movement of the recognized object in the second image. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second image includes at least one object located at an area beyond the first viewing angle. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: changing a position of the overlaid icon on the display. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: executing a control instruction for the first camera in accordance with a movement of at least one object in the second image. 7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: detecting the movement of the at least one object; and retrieving a command for the first camera in accordance with the detected movement. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the retrieved command includes at least one of photographing the first image, triggering a flash, setting a timer, and performing consecutive photographing. 9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the displaying comprising: if the first camera is mounted on a disparate surface relative to the second camera, overlaying the at least one object in the second image or an icon corresponding to the at least one object into the first image. 10. An electronic device for displaying an image, the electronic device comprising: a display that displays an image; a camera module including a plurality of cameras; and a controller configured to: acquire a first image by a first camera having a first viewing angle; acquire a second image by a second camera having a second viewing angle, the second viewing angle being different from the first viewing angle; recognize at least one object in the second image; overlay the first image with an icon corresponding to the recognized at least one object; and display the overlaid first image and the icon on the display, wherein the first camera and the second camera are mounted to a same surface of an electronic device. 11. The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the second viewing angle is larger than the first viewing angle, the controller is configured to recognize a movement of at least one object in the second image. 12. The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the controller is configured to trigger photographic capture of the first image in accordance with a movement of at least one object in the second image. 13. The electronic device of claim 12 , wherein the controller is configured to detect the movement of the at least one object and retrieve a command corresponding to the detected movement to control the first camera. 14. The electronic device of claim 13 , wherein the retrieved command includes at least one of photographing the first image, triggering a flash, setting a timer, and performing consecutive photographing. 15. The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the controller is configured to changes a position of the overlaid icon on the display. 16. The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the controller is configured to display the first image and the second image on the display in accordance with a video call.
