A camera assembly or module for a vehicle vision system includes a housing having a connector portion for connecting to a vehicle wiring. A circuit element is disposed within the housing and a plurality of electrical connector elements is disposed at the connector portion of the housing. Each of the electrical connector elements has a first end configured for electrically connecting to circuitry of the circuit element and a second end configured for electrically connecting to the vehicle wiring. The electrical connector elements self-adjust so that the first ends engage the circuitry and make electrical connection therewith during assembly of the camera assembly. Adjustment of the electrical connectors may include at least one of (i) extending toward an extended state, (ii) retracting toward a retracted state, and (iii) flexing toward a flexed state.

The invention claimed is: 1. A camera assembly for a vehicle vision system, said camera assembly comprising: a housing comprising a connector portion configured for connecting to a vehicle wiring when said camera assembly is installed at a vehicle; a circuit element disposed within said housing; a plurality of electrical connector elements disposed at said connector portion of said second housing portion, wherein each of said electrical connector elements comprises a first end that is configured for electrically connecting to circuitry of said circuit element and a second end that is configured for electrically connecting to the vehicle wiring; wherein said electrical connector elements self-adjust so that said first ends engage said circuitry and make electrical connection therewith during assembly of said camera assembly; and wherein said electrical connector elements maintain electrical connection with said circuitry after self-adjustment of said electrical connector elements. 2. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements extend through said housing, with said first end of said electrical connector elements disposed within said housing and said second end of said electrical connector elements disposed outside said housing. 3. The camera assembly of claim 2 , wherein a self-adjusting portion of each of said electrical connector elements is disposed within said housing at or near said first end of the electrical connector element. 4. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise extendible and retractable pins. 5. The camera assembly of claim 4 , wherein said pins comprise spring-loaded pins that are biased toward an extended state. 6. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise telescoping extendible and retractable pins. 7. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise an unhitched contact area. 8. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise flexible pins. 9. The camera assembly of claim 8 , wherein each of said flexible pins comprises a pin that is flexible in three dimensions due to bending within a bending zone of said pin. 10. The camera assembly of claim 9 , wherein said bending zone of said pin is at or near said first end of said connector element. 11. The camera assembly of claim 1 , comprising a lens housed by said housing. 12. The camera assembly of claim 11 , wherein said electrical connector elements maintain electrical connection to said circuitry via self-adjustment of said electrical connector elements in a direction generally along an optical axis of said lens and sliding of contacts of said first ends of said electrical connector elements at connector pads of said circuit element in a direction generally orthogonal to said optical axis. 13. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise generally straight terminal portions at said second ends and generally flat contacts at said first ends, wherein said generally flat contacts slidingly engage connector pads of said circuit element. 14. The camera assembly of claim 13 , wherein said housing comprises an injection molded plastic housing and wherein said generally straight terminal portions are insert molded at said connector portion of said housing. 15. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said housing comprises a first housing portion and a second housing portion, and wherein said connector portion is established at said second housing portion. 16. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein a photosensor array is disposed within said housing and at the side of said circuit element opposite the side at which said first ends of said electrical connector elements engage said circuitry. 17. The camera assembly of claim 1 , wherein said self-adjustment of said electrical connector elements comprises at least one of (i) extending toward an extended state, (ii) retracting toward a retracted state, and (iii) flexing toward a flexed state. 18. A camera assembly for a vehicle vision system, said camera assembly comprising: a housing comprising a connector portion configured for connecting to a vehicle wiring when said camera assembly is installed at a vehicle; a lens housed by said housing; a photosensor array disposed within said housing; a circuit element disposed within said housing; a plurality of electrical connector elements disposed at said connector portion of said second housing portion, wherein each of said electrical connector elements comprises a first end that is configured for electrically connecting to circuitry of said circuit element and a second end that is configured for electrically connecting to the vehicle wiring; wherein said housing comprises an injection molded plastic housing and wherein said electrical connector elements are insert molded at said connector portion of said housing; wherein said electrical connector elements self-adjust so that said first ends engage said circuitry and make electrical connection therewith during assembly of said camera assembly; and wherein said electrical connector elements maintain electrical connection with said circuitry after self-adjustment of said electrical connector elements. 19. The camera assembly of claim 18 , wherein said electrical connector elements extend through said housing, with said first end of said electrical connector elements disposed within said housing and said second end of said electrical connector elements disposed outside said housing, and wherein a self-adjusting portion of each of said electrical connector elements is disposed within said housing at or near said first end of the electrical connector element. 20. The camera assembly of claim 18 , wherein said electrical connector elements comprise at least one of (i) extendible and retractable pins, (ii) spring-loaded pins that are biased toward an extended state, (iii) telescoping extendible and retractable pins, (iv) flexible pins and (v) flexible pins that are flexible in three dimensions due to bending within a bending zone of said pin. 21. The camera assembly of claim 18 , wherein said photosensor array is disposed within said housing and at the side of said circuit element opposite the side at which said first ends of said electrical connector elements engage said circuitry. 22.
