The invention claimed is: 1. A method for treating metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) of squamous histology in a second line patient having failed at least one prior chemotherapy regimen, the method comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of the compound 4-[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-6-{[4-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1-oxo-2-buten-1-yl]amino}-7-((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy)-quinazoline, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the 4-[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-6-{[4-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1-oxo-2-buten-1-yl]amino}-7-((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy)-quinazoline, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, is used in monotherapy or in combination with another anti-tumour therapeutic agent. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the other anti-tumour therapeutic agent is selected from the group consisting topoisomerase inhibitors, mitosis inhibitors, compounds which interact with nucleic acids, hormone antagonists, inhibitors of metabolic processes, cytokines, and antibodies. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the other anti-tumour therapeutic agent is cis-platinum. 5. The method of claim 2 , wherein the compound is 4-[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-6-{[4-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1-oxo-2-buten-1-yl]amino}-7-((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy)-quinazoline dimaleate.
