A valve seat has an inner passage and outer passages. A suction valve member has first passages and a first projection portion that guides, to the first passages, the fuel that flows from a pressure chamber at the time of valve opening. Therefore, an action force by the dynamic pressure applied to the suction valve member in the valve closing direction is reduced. An action force by the pressure of fuel that flows into pressure equalization grooves counterbalances the action force by the dynamic pressure of the suction valve member. Therefore, self-closing by the dynamic pressure can be inhibited, and the maximum output of an electromagnetic driving unit can be reduced. Fuel flow through a passage radially outside the suction valve member and the first passages. A fluid passage area is securable even when a lift amount of the suction valve member is small.

What is claimed is: 1. A high-pressure pump, comprising: a plunger; a cylinder having a bottom cylindrical shape, supporting the plunger reciprocally in an axial direction, and having a pressure chamber with a volumetric capacity that changes when the plunger moves; a fuel suction portion having a valve, the valve comprising; a valve body; a valve seat having an inner hole portion located inward in a radial direction of the valve body and an outer hole portion located outward in a radial direction of the valve body with respect to the inner hole portion; a valve member that is configured to abut against and move away from the valve seat; and a driving unit that is configured to inhibit movement of the valve member toward the valve seat, wherein: the outer hole portion is an arcuate hole; and the driving unit is inserted in the inner hole portion. 2. The high-pressure pump according to claim 1 , wherein a portion of the driving unit is within the inner hole portion and the portion of the driving unit is rigid. 3. The high-pressure pump according to claim 1 , wherein the driving unit extends through the valve seat from a side opposite the valve member to a same side as the valve member.
