A fusion-splicing device is provided. The fusing-splicing device includes a fusion-splicing operation unit that fuses respective exposed ends of another optical fiber and a built-in optical fiber to form a spliced fiber. The fusion-splicing device further includes a fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device that receives said spliced fiber.

What is claimed is: 1. A fusion-splicing device for fusion-splicing an exposed end of a built-in optical fiber affixed to a ferrule to an exposed end of another optical fiber, the fusion-splicing device comprising: a fusion-splicing operation unit that fuses the respective exposed ends of said another optical fiber and the built-in optical fiber to form a spliced fiber, the fusion-splicing operation unit receiving and holding a ferrule holder in a prescribed position, said ferrule holder receiving and holding said ferrule at one end that is opposite to an end having said exposed end of the built-in optical fiber, and having a stem of a prescribed length at an opposite end, said fusion-splicing operation unit further receiving said another optical fiber such that said respective exposed ends of the built-in optical fiber and said another optical fiber face each other at prescribed positions; and a fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device that receives said spliced fiber having, on one end, said ferrule attached to the ferrule holder, wherein at least a portion of the stem of the ferrule holder extends, and is exposed to an exterior, from one end of the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device to be manually accessible when said spliced fiber is received by the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device. 2. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 1 , wherein the stem of said ferrule holder has a circular cross-section, and a portion of the ferrule holder that receives the ferrule has a circular cross-section, and wherein the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device is configured to receive and accommodate the ferrule holder having said circular cross-sections. 3. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 2 , wherein a diameter of the circular cross section of the stem is smaller than a diameter of said portion of the ferrule holder that receives the ferrule, and wherein the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device is configured to receive and accommodate the ferrule holder having said circular cross-sections having said respective diameters. 4. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 1 , wherein the fusion-splicing operation unit includes a ferrule holding device that receives and holds the ferrule holder and the ferrule attached to the ferrule holder, and wherein at least a portion of the stem of the ferrule holder extends, and is exposed to an exterior, from one end of the ferrule holding device to be manually accessible the ferrule holder and the ferrule attached to the ferrule holder are held by the ferrule holding device so that when a fusion-splicing operation is completed, the spliced fiber having said ferrule attached to the ferrule holder can be removed from the ferrule holding device by manually gripping and lifting at least said portion of the stem of the ferrule holder, and can be transferred to the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device. 5. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 4 , wherein the ferrule holding device includes a holder base configured to accommodate at least a portion of the ferrule and a portion of the ferrule holder, and a rotatable lid to cover at least said portion of the ferrule and said portion of the ferrule holder held in the holder base. 6. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 5 , wherein the lid is made of a metal and is configured to close by a magnetic force of a magnet installed on the holder base. 7. The fusion-splicing device according to claim 4 , wherein the ferrule holding device includes a holder base having a groove on an upper surface thereof so as to receive and place at least a portion of the ferrule and a portion of the ferrule holder in prescribed positions, and wherein the groove has an end through which at least said portion of the stem of the ferrule holder extends so that said portion is manually accessible. 8. The fusion-splicing device of claim 1 , wherein said fusion-splicing operation unit includes a holder configured to hold said another optical fiber at an orientation so that the exposed end of said another optical fiber opposes the exposed end of the built-in optical fiber affixed to the ferrule within an operating range of said fusion-splicing operation unit. 9. The fusion-splicing device of claim 1 , wherein said fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device includes a chamber configured to receive and fix a heat-shrinkable reinforcing body that is attached to a spliced portion of the spliced fiber. 10. The fusion-splicing device of claim 1 , wherein said at least a portion of the stem of the ferrule holder extends, and is exposed to the exterior, from said one end of the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device also when the fusion-spliced-portion reinforcement device operates on the spliced fiber. 11. A fusion-splicing device, comprising: a fusion-splicing operation element that fuses ends of opposing optical fiber segments to form a spliced optical fiber; and a ferrule holding device that receives and holds a ferrule holder in a predetermined position, said ferrule holder having an open end that receives a cylindrical portion of a ferrule therein and having a stem at an opposite end thereof, wherein said ferrule has an optical fiber segment that extends away from said open end of said ferrule holder when said ferrule is disposed in said ferrule holder, one end of the ferrule holding device is open to allow an end of the optical fiber segment of the ferrule to be held at a position to be fused to an end of an opposing optical fiber, an opposite end of said ferrule holding device is shaped to accommodate the stem, and at least a portion of the stem of the ferrule holder extends, and is exposed to an exterior, from the opposite end of the ferrule holding device to be manually accessible so as to permit transferring the ferrule to and from the ferrule holding device while the cylindrical portion of the ferrule is held by the ferrule holder.
