What is claimed is: 1. An electric storage apparatus, comprising: a plurality of electric storage devices, each electric storage device including a cell case in which an electrode assembly is accommodated, the cell case having a substantially hexahedral shape, the cell case being formed with an external terminal on one surface thereof; a first external housing for housing the electric storage devices, the first external housing comprising a pair of first main wall portions that are opposed to each other and a pair of first side wall portions that are opposed to each other, the pair of first main wall portions and the pair of first side wall portions defining a first opening at at least one end in a first direction thereof; and a second external housing for housing the first external housing, the second external housing comprising a pair of second main wall portions that are opposed to each other and a pair of second side wall portions that are opposed to each other, the pair of second main wall portions and the pair of second side wall portions defining a second opening at at least one end in the first direction thereof, wherein said each electric storage device is housed in the first external housing such that a surface on which the external terminal is formed faces toward the first opening. 2. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first external housing comprises a resin, and wherein the second external housing comprises a metal. 3. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein an outer surface of the first main wall portion is in contact with an inner surface of the second main wall portion. 4. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein an outer surface of the first side wall portion is in contact with an inner surface of the second side wall portion. 5. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a support member placed on the electric storage devices and placed inside the first opening, the support member comprising a resin. 6. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the support member is coupled to at least one of the first main wall portions and the first side wall portions. 7. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the support member includes a first exposure portion through which the external terminal is exposed. 8. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a cover plate that closes the first opening, the cover plate comprising a resin. 9. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a heat sink that closes the second opening, the heat sink comprising a metal. 10. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 9 , further comprising a bottom resin portion interposed between a bottom surface of each electric storage device and the heat sink. 11. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first external housing includes a first engaging portion and the second external housing includes a second engaging portion, and wherein the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion are engaged with each other. 12. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the first engaging portion comprises a plurality of first engaging portions, and wherein the second engaging portion comprises a plurality of second engaging portions. 13. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the second engaging portion comprises an opening portion. 14. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the opening portion is formed as a hole. 15. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the heat sink is of a water cooling type. 16. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an electrical insulating sheet attached to an inner surface of the first external housing. 17. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 16 , wherein the first external housing comprises a metal. 18. An electric drive machine, comprising the electric storage apparatus according to claim 1 . 19. The electric drive machine according to claim 18 , wherein the electric drive machine includes a hybrid electric vehicle. 20. The electric drive machine according to claim 18 , wherein the electric drive machine includes an electric vehicle.
