A tape cassette that includes a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface, a front wall, a tape feed exit located on the front wall, and an arm portion formed by the front wall and an arm rear surface behind the front wall. The arm portion partially surrounds an opening extending from the top surface to the bottom surface behind the front wall, and a tape feed path passes through the arm portion from an upstream portion of the arm portion to a downstream end of the arm portion. The tape cassette also has a tape included at least partially in the housing and configured to be fed along the tape feed path extending to the tape feed exit, and a first aperture formed on a bottom edge of the front wall and positioned downstream of an upstream end of the opening.

What is claimed is: 1. A tape cassette, comprising: a tape; a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface, a front wall connected with the top surface at a top edge of the front wall and with the bottom surface at a bottom edge of the front wall, a tape feed exit located on the front wall, and an arm portion formed by the front wall and an arm rear surface behind the front wall, wherein the tape is included at least partially in the housing and is configured to be fed along a tape feed path to the tape feed exit, wherein the arm portion partially surrounds an opening extending from the top surface to the bottom surface behind the front wall, wherein a first portion of the tape feed path passes through the arm portion from an upstream, in the tape feed path, end of the arm portion to a downstream, in the tape feed path, end of the arm portion, and wherein the tape in the first portion of the tape feed path is configured to be fed in a first feed direction; a roller, wherein an axis of the roller is perpendicular to the top surface and the bottom surface; a first aperture formed on both the bottom edge of the front wall and a front edge of the bottom surface, the first aperture being positioned downstream, in the first feed direction, of the upstream end of the arm portion, the downstream end of the arm portion being upstream, in the tape feed path, of the roller; a second aperture on the front wall, wherein the second aperture is located downstream, in the first feed direction, of the first aperture; a latching portion on the front wall, wherein the latching portion and one of the first aperture and the second aperture are located in a common trench in the front wall; and a rear indentation indented from a rear portion of the bottom surface toward the top surface up to a ceiling surface, a position of a portion of the rear indentation in the first feed direction being on a position of a virtual straight line in the first feed direction, the virtual straight line being orthogonal to the bottom surface and passing through the first aperture. 2. The tape cassette of claim 1 , wherein the tape cassette is for use with a label printer having at least one tape type detecting switch, and wherein the first aperture is configured to receive the tape type detecting switch of the label printer. 3. The tape cassette of claim 1 , wherein the tape cassette is for use with a label printer, the latching portion is configured to receive a latching piece of the label printer, and wherein a part of the first aperture is aligned with a part of the latching portion in a direction from the bottom surface to the top surface. 4. The tape cassette of claim 1 , wherein the tape cassette is for use with a label printer, the latching portion is configured to receive a latching piece of the label printer, and wherein the first aperture includes the latching portion. 5. The tape cassette of claim 1 , wherein the tape cassette is for use with a label printer, and the latching portion is configured to receive a latching piece of the label printer. 6. A tape cassette for use with a label printer having a plurality of tape type detecting switches each having two possible states, the tape cassette comprising: a tape; a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface, a front wall connected with the top surface at a top edge of the front wall and with the bottom surface at a bottom edge of the front wall, a tape feed exit located on the front wall, and an arm portion formed by the front wall and an arm rear surface behind the front wall, wherein the tape is included at least partially in the housing and is configured to be fed along a tape feed path to the tape feed exit, wherein the arm portion partially surrounds an opening extending from the top surface to the bottom surface behind the front wall, wherein a first portion of the tape feed path passes through the arm portion from an upstream, in the tape feed path, end of the arm portion to a downstream, in the tape feed path, end of the arm portion, and wherein the tape in the first portion of the tape feed path is configured to be fed in a first feed direction; a roller, wherein an axis of the roller is perpendicular to the top surface and the bottom surface; a pressing portion on the front wall and a first non-pressing portion on the front wall, wherein the pressing portion and the first non-pressing portion are positioned to oppose the tape type detecting switches of the label printer when the tape cassette is in the label printer; a latching portion on the front wall, the latching portion configured to receive a latching piece of the label printer, wherein the first non-pressing portion and the latching portion are located in a common trench in the front wall, wherein the pressing portion is configured to change a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches, and the first non-pressing portion is configured to avoid changing a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches, when the tape cassette is in the label printer, wherein the first non-pressing portion is formed on both the bottom edge of the front wall and a front edge of the bottom surface, the first non-pressing portion being positioned downstream, in the first feed direction, of the upstream end of the arm portion, the downstream end of the arm portion being upstream, in the tape feed path, of the roller; and a rear indentation indented from a rear portion of the bottom surface toward the top surface up to a ceiling surface, a position of a portion of the rear indentation in the first feed direction being on a position of a virtual straight line in the first feed direction, the virtual straight line being orthogonal to the bottom surface and passing through the first non-pressing portion. 7. The tape cassette of claim 6 , wherein a part of the first non-pressing portion is aligned with a part of the latching portion in a direction from the bottom surface to the top surface. 8. The tape cassette of claim 6 , further comprising a second non-pressing portion on the front wall, wherein the second non-pressing portion is positioned to oppose one of the tape type detecting switches of the label printer when the tape cassette is in the label printer, wherein the second non-pressing portion is configured to avoid changing a state of the opposing one of the tape type detecting switches, when the tape cassette is in the label printer, and wherein the second non-pressing portion is located downstream, in the first feed direction, of the first non-pressing portion. 9.
