Official abstract text for this publication.
The present invention relates to isolated polypeptides having amylolytic enhancing activity and isolated polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods of producing and using the polypeptides.

What is claimed is: 1. A process for degrading a starch-containing material, comprising: treating the starch-containing material with one or more amylolytic enzymes and a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence having at least 98% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4, wherein the polypeptide has amylolytic enhancing activity. 2. A process for producing a saccharified product from a starch-containing material, comprising: (a) liquefying the starch-containing material with an alpha-amylase; and (b) saccharifying the liquefied starch-containing material with one or more amylolytic enzymes; wherein step (a), step (b), or steps (a) and (b) comprise a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence having at least 98% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4 having amylolytic enhancing activity. 3. A process for producing a fermentation product, comprising: (a) saccharifying a starch-containing material with one or more amylolytic enzymes and a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence with at least 98% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4 having amylolytic enhancing activity; and (b) fermenting the saccharified starch-containing material with one or more fermenting microorganisms to produce the fermentation product. 4. The process of claim 3 , further comprising (c) recovering the fermentation product from the fermentation. 5. A process for producing a fermentation product from a starch-containing material, comprising: (a) liquefying the starch-containing material with an alpha-amylase; (b) saccharifying the liquefied starch-containing material with one or more amylolytic enzymes; and (c) fermenting the saccharified starch-containing material in the presence of one or more fermenting organisms to produce the fermentation product; wherein step (a), step (b), or steps (a) and (b) comprise a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 98% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4 having amylolytic enhancing activity. 6. The process of claim 5 , further comprising (d) recovering the fermentation product from the fermentation. 7. The process of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 99% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4. 8. The process of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises one or more of the motifs selected from the group consisting of N-G-D-H-G-G-M (SEQ ID NO: 17), Q-T-x-Q-x-Y-L-x-C-A-D (SEQ ID NO: 18), E-K-x-A-A-E-x-C-F (SEQ ID NO: 19), and Y-N-A-R-x(3)-D-Y-N-[FQVP] (SEQ ID NO: 20).
