Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Methods and systems according to one or more embodiments are provided for storing online transaction records associated with user-merchant transactions. In an embodiment, a system comprises one or more processors. The system also comprises one or more memories adapted to store a plurality of machine-readable instructions which when executed by the one or more processors are adapted to cause the system to: receive transaction information captured and passed from a client device in response to the client device determining that information or content provided by a merchant server comprises transaction information, wherein the transaction information is associated with a user-merchant transaction; and store the received transaction information in a searchable machine-readable transaction record associated with a user account.

What is claimed is: 1. A system comprising: a receiver configured to receive transaction information captured and passed from a client device to a payment service provider server in response to the client device determining that information provided by a merchant server comprises transaction information, wherein the transaction information is identified as being a receipt associated with transaction details for one or more particular items purchased in a user-merchant transaction, wherein the information provided by the merchant server corresponds to a communication from the merchant server to the client device; a non-transitory memory configured to store the received transaction information in a searchable machine-readable transaction record associated with a user account maintained at the payment service provider server; and a hardware processor operatively coupled to the receiver and the non-transitory memory, the hardware processor configured to execute instructions to cause the system to: associate the transaction record with one or more user-selectable reorder links to one or more websites based on matching one or more identifiers in the transaction record with at least a portion of an address of the one or more websites; present, on a user interface of the client device, the one or more user-selectable links to the one or more websites to permit a user to selectively re-purchase one or more particular items identified in the transaction record through the one or more websites; and in response to receiving an indication of a selection of the one or more user-selectable reorder links to the one or more websites from the user via the user interface of the client device, process a re-purchase order of the one or more particular items identified in the transaction record through the one or more websites to automatically cause a purchase transaction for the one or more particular items. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information provided by the merchant server further comprises an email message from the merchant server to the client device identifying the transaction details. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction information is captured by the client device locally in HTML, XML or a text-based format, or in a graphic image of the transaction information associated with the user-merchant transaction. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is further configured to: receive the transaction information in response to the client device determining that the information provided by the merchant server comprises transaction information based on comparing an identifier associated with the information with an identifier in a transaction database. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information provided by the merchant server further comprises program code embedded in the information that is executable by the client device. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction information is maintained locally by the client device. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is further configured to: receive the transaction information via a printer driver of the client device in response to the client device receiving a user input associated with the printer driver. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is further configured to receive a search request comprising one or more search terms from the client device for searching contents of the searchable machine-readable transaction record; and the hardware processor, in response to the search request, is further configured to retrieve and serve transaction information matching the one or more search terms. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is further configured to: receive, from the client device, a search request comprising a request for warranty information; and the hardware processor is further configured to request, from a warranty management server, the warranty information corresponding to one or more matching search term(s) and serve the warranty information to the client device. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is further configured to: receive a re-purchase request from the client device for one or more user-selected items identified in the machine-readable transaction record. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the hardware processor is further configured to: execute a new transaction in connection with the re-purchase of the one or more user-selected items. 12. The system of claim 10 , wherein the hardware processor is further configured to: redirect the client device to a link or a webpage associated with the user-selected item(s) in response to the receiver receiving the re-purchase request from the client device. 13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the hardware processor is further configured to: associate the machine-readable transaction record with one or more other user-selectable links to permit the user to perform at least one of: purchase items referenced by the machine-readable transaction record, obtain warranty information, request warranty services for item(s) referenced by the machine-readable transaction record, obtain terms and conditions associated with items identified in the machine-readable transaction record, track chargebacks associated with particular merchants, and for dispute resolution. 14. A method comprising: receiving, by a processor at a payment provider server, transaction information captured and passed from a client device in response to the client device determining that information provided by a merchant server comprises transaction information, wherein the transaction information is identified as being a receipt associated with transaction details for one or more particular items purchased in a user-merchant transaction, wherein the information provided by the merchant server corresponds to a communication from the merchant server to the client device; storing, at the payment provider server, the received transaction information in a searchable machine-readable transaction record associated with a user account maintained at the payment service provider server; associating, by the processor at the payment provider server, the transaction record with one or more user-selectable reorder links to permit a user to selectively re-purchase one or more particular items identified in the transaction record, wherein the associating is based on matching one or more identifiers in the transaction record with at least a portion of an address of the one or more user-selectable reorder links; presenting, by the processor, on a user interface of the client device, the one or more user-selectable reorder links; and in response to receiving an indication of a selection of the one or more user-selectable reorder links from the user via the user interface of the client device, process a re-purchase order of the one or more particular items identified in the transaction record to automatically cause a purchase transaction for the one or more particular items. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the receiving further comprises receiving the transaction information in response to the client device determining that the information provided by the merchant server comprises transaction information based on comparing an identifier associated with the information or content with an identifier in a transaction database. 16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the transaction information is maintained locally by the client device. 17. The method of claim 14 , wherein the receiving further comprises receiving the transaction information via a printer drive
