Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

In one aspect of the invention, a transmission device for a photosensitive drum having a drum axis, which is adapted for engagement with a drive member of an electronic image forming apparatus, comprises a flange detachably attachable to the photosensitive drum coaxially to the drum axis, the flange having a receiving hole; and a transmission unit disposed to the flange coaxially to the drum axis. The transmission unit includes a shaft disposed in the receiving hole of the flange and being rotatable about the drum axis relative to the flange and movable along the drum axis relative to the flange; and an engagement structure being coaxial with the shaft and defining a receiving space for receiving the drive member.

What is claimed is: 1. A transmission device for a photosensitive drum having a drum axis, which is adapted for engagement with a drive member of an electronic image forming apparatus, the transmission device comprising: a flange detachably attachable to the photosensitive drum coaxially to the drum axis, the flange having a receiving hole; and a transmission unit disposed to the flange coaxially to the drum axis, the transmission unit comprising: (i) a shaft disposed in the receiving hole of the flange and being rotatable about the drum axis relative to the flange and movable along the drum axis relative to the flange; and (ii) an engagement structure being coaxial with the shaft and defining a receiving space for receiving the drive member. 2. The transmission device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the flange comprises: a gear member for engaging with the photosensitive drum, having a housing defined along the drum axis; and a sleeve having a main body received in the housing of the gear member, an axial hole defined through the main body along the drum axis, and at least one guiding groove formed on the main body and communicated with the axial hole, wherein the axial hole is coincident with the receiving hole. 3. The transmission device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the shaft has at least a protrusion extending along a radial direction of the shaft, wherein the shaft is disposed in the axial hole of the sleeve and is rotatable about the axis relative to the sleeve and movable along the drum axis relative to the sleeve, and the at least one protrusion of the shaft is movably retained in the at least one guiding groove. 4. The transmission device as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising: an elastic member being disposed in the receiving hole and having two ends abutted against a bottom wall of the gear member and an end of the shaft, respectively. 5. The transmission device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the engagement structure comprises a base extending from a first end of the shaft, and at least two engagement blocks extending from two opposite sides of the base away from the axis to define the receiving space. 6. The transmission device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein each engagement block helically extending from the base toward a first direction. 7. A drum unit, comprising the transmission device as claimed in claim 1 . 8. A transmission unit usable in a transmission device having a flange, comprising: (i) a shaft disposed in a receiving hole of the flange coaxially with an axis of the flange, and being rotatable about the axis relative to the flange and movable along the axis relative to the flange; and (ii) an engagement structure being coaxial with the shaft and defining a receiving space for receiving the drive member. 9. A drum unit, comprising; a photosensitive drum having a drum axis; a flange detachably attached to the photosensitive drum coaxially to the drum axis, the flange having a receiving hole and two limiting recesses communicated with each other; an elastic member installed in the receiving hole; and a transmission unit disposed to the flange coaxially to the drum axis, the transmission unit comprising: (i) a shaft being rotatable about the drum axis relative to the flange and movable along the drum axis relative to the flange, having a base attached to one end of the shaft, the shaft having at least one protrusion extending along a radial direction of the shaft; and (ii) at least two engagement blocks extending from two opposite sides of the base away from the photosensitive drum. 10. The drum unit as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the two limiting recesses comprise two guiding grooves. 11. The drum unit as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the at least one protrusion of the shaft is movably retained in the guiding grooves. 12. A transmission device for a photosensitive drum having a drum axis, which is adapted for engagement with a drive member of an electronic image forming apparatus, the transmission device comprising: a flange attachable to the photosensitive drum coaxially to the drum axis, the flange having a receiving hole; and a transmission unit disposed to the flange coaxially to the drum axis, the transmission unit comprising: (i) a shaft disposed in the receiving hole of the flange and being rotatable about the drum axis relative to the flange and movable along the drum axis relative to the flange; and (ii) an engagement structure being coaxial with the shaft and defining a receiving space for receiving the drive member. 13. The transmission device as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the flange comprises: a gear member for engaging with the photosensitive drum, having a housing defined along the drum axis; and a sleeve having a main body received in the housing of the gear member, an axial hole defined through the main body along the drum axis, and at least one guiding groove formed on the main body and communicated with the axial hole, wherein the axial hole is coincident with the receiving hole. 14. The transmission device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the shaft has at least a protrusion extending along a radial direction of the shaft, wherein the shaft is disposed in the axial hole of the sleeve and is rotatable about the axis relative to the sleeve and movable along the drum axis relative to the sleeve, and the at least one protrusion of the shaft is movably retained in the at least one guiding groove. 15. The transmission device as claimed in claim 14 , further comprising: an elastic member being disposed in the receiving hole and having two ends abutted against a bottom wall of the gear member and an end of the shaft, respectively. 16. The transmission device as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the engagement structure comprises a base extending from a first end of the shaft, and at least two engagement blocks extending from two opposite sides of the base away from the axis to define the receiving space. 17. The transmission device as claimed in claim 16 , wherein each engagement block helically extending from the base toward a first direction. 18.
