Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

In a monetary information processing method, an amount remitted by a remitter to a financial account in a banking system and monetary terminal identification information identifying a monetary terminal that stores a monetary value are acquired from the banking system. The acquired amount is divided into unit amounts when the acquired amount exceeds a preselected amount. Amount update information is transmitted to the monetary terminal to increase the monetary value by the acquired amount when the acquired amount does not exceed the preselected amount or by any selected one of the unit amounts provided that the acquired amount or the selected unit amount does not exceed an allowable limit previously set for the monetary terminal. The amount acquired from the banking system is decreased by the amount by which the monetary value is increased in accordance with the amount update information.

What is claimed is: 1. A monetary information processing server configured to communicate with: (a) a first monetary terminal configured to store a first monetary value; (b) a second monetary terminal configured to store a second monetary value; and (c) a banking system which includes: (i) a plurality of predetermined financial accounts including a single first predetermined financial account; and (ii) an input device, the monetary information processing server comprising: a processor; and a memory device operatively coupled to the processor, the memory device storing instructions which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: (a) acquire, from the banking system: (i) an amount which is input by a user operating the input device of the banking system, the amount being withdrawn from the single first predetermined financial account; and (ii) monetary terminal identification information which is input by the user operating the input device of the banking system, the monetary terminal identification information identifying one of the first monetary terminal and the second monetary terminal; (b) in response to the monetary terminal identification information identifying the first monetary terminal: (i) for the first monetary terminal, using the amount input by the user, store a first accumulation amount; (ii) in response to the amount exceeding a predetermined amount, divide the amount being withdrawn from the single first predetermined financial account by the predetermined amount into a plurality of unit amounts, wherein each one of the plurality of unit amounts is less than or equal to the predetermined amount; (iii) after the amount from the banking system is acquired, transmit a transmission preparation completion notice to a destination associated with the first monetary terminal; (iv) after the transmission preparation completion notice is transmitted to the destination associated with the first monetary terminal, transmit, to the first monetary terminal, first amount update information for increasing the first monetary value stored in the first monetary terminal by a first charge-up amount which is equal to one of the plurality of unit amounts, the first charge-up amount not exceeding the first accumulation amount; and (v) decrease the stored first accumulation amount by the first charge-up amount, and store a different second accumulation amount as a remaining balance from the amount acquired from the banking system less the first charge-up amount, the different second accumulation amount including at least one unit amount of the plurality of unit amounts; and (c) in response to the monetary terminal identification information identifying the second monetary terminal: (i) for the second monetary terminal, using the amount input by the user, store a third accumulation amount; (ii) transmit, to the second monetary terminal, second amount update information for increasing the second monetary value stored in the second monetary terminal by a second charge-up amount, the second charge-up amount not exceeding the third accumulation amount; and (iii) decrease the stored third accumulation amount by the second charge-up amount. 2. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein: (a) the first monetary terminal includes a first cell phone; and (b) the second monetary terminal include a second cell phone. 3. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein: (a) the first monetary terminal includes a first IC chip configured to at least one of increase and decrease the first monetary value stored in the first monetary terminal; and (b) the second monetary terminal includes a second IC chip configured to at least one of increase and decrease the second monetary value stored in the second monetary terminal. 4. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: (a) from the first monetary terminal, receive a monetary value; and (b) transmit third amount update information within a range not exceeding an amount limit previously set for the first monetary terminal based on the received amount. 5. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein the banking system includes an online system of a bank. 6. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein after the transmission preparation completion notice is transmitted to the destination associated with the first monetary terminal, a user authentication process is executed, and after the user authentication process is completed, the first amount update information is transmitted to the first monetary terminal. 7. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein the destination associated with the first monetary terminal is an electronic mail address registered by the user. 8. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein the monetary terminal identification information identifies the first monetary terminal. 9. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein predetermined amount is equal to one half of the first monetary amount. 10. The monetary information processing server of claim 1 , wherein predetermined amount is less than one half of the first monetary amount. 11. A method of operating a monetary information processing server configured to communicate with: (a) a first monetary terminal configured to store a first monetary value; (b) a second monetary terminal configured to store a second monetary value; and (c) a banking system which includes: (i) a plurality of predetermined financial accounts including a single first predetermined financial account; and (ii) an input device, the method comprising: (a) causing a processor to execute instructions to acquire, from the banking system: (i) an amount which is input by a user operating the input device of the banking system, the amount being withdrawn from the single first predetermined financial account; and (ii) monetary terminal identification information which is input by the user operating the input device of the banking system, the monetary terminal identification information identifying one of the first monetary terminal and the second monetary terminal; (b) in response to the monetary terminal identification information identifying the first monetary terminal: (i) for the first monetary terminal, causing the processor to execute the instructions to, using the amount input by the user, store a first accumulation amount; (ii) in response to the amount exceeding a predetermined amount, divide the amount being withdrawn from the single first predetermined financial account by the predetermined amount into a plurality of unit amounts, wherein each one of the plurality of unit amounts is less than or equal to the predetermined amount; (iii) after the amount from the banking system is acquired, causing the processor to execute the instructions to transmit a transmission preparation completion notice to a destination associated with the first monetary terminal; (iv) after the transmission preparation completion notice is transmitted to the destination associated with the first monetary terminal, causing the processor to execute the instructions to transmit, to the first monetary terminal, first amount update information for increasing the first monetary value stored in the first monetary terminal by a first charge-up amount which is equal to one of the plurality of unit amounts, the first charge-up amount not exceeding the first accumulation amount; and (v) causing the processor to execute the instructions to decrease the stored first accumulation amount by the first
