We claim: 1. A sterile pharmaceutical composition comprising a polypeptide which comprises: (i) an Rv2386c protein comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1 and 6; or (ii) an Rv2386c protein comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1 and 6; and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. 2. An immunogenic composition comprising a polypeptide which comprises: (i) an Rv2386c protein comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1 and 6; or (ii) an Rv2386c protein comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1 and 6; and a non-specific immune response enhancer. 3. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO: 1. 4. The immunogenic composition according to claim 2 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:1. 5. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO: 6. 6. The immunogenic composition according to claim 2 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:6.
