The present invention relates to a method of treating a disease or disorder characterized by increased stress hormone levels and/or decreased androgen hormone levels in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound represented by formula (I): wherein n is 1 or 3; R is hydrogen or —C(O)N(R a )(R b ) wherein R a and R b are independently —(C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl, or —(C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl-(C 5 -C 7 ) aryl, wherein each of R a and R b is optionally substituted by —(C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy; R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 , are independently hydrogen, halogen, cyano or —(C 6 -C 10 ) aryl, wherein said —(C 6 -C 10 ) aryl is optionally substituted by halogen, with the proviso that no more than one of R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 is hydrogen; and R 4 and R 5 are hydrogen; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
