A jet regulator, having a non-circular profile when viewed in a flow direction, is provided. The jet regulator includes a jet regulator housing configured to be inserted into a water outlet of a sanitary outlet fitting from an outlet end side. The housing includes a latching part, which has at least one spring arm integrally formed on an outer periphery of the jet regulator housing, the at least one spring arm extending tangentially away from the housing, in the flow direction, toward a free arm end. The at least one spring arm is resiliently biased away from the housing.

The invention claimed is: 1. A combination sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) and jet regulator ( 1 ), the outlet fitting ( 3 ) having a water outlet ( 2 ) comprising an undercut ( 8 ) on an inner periphery thereof, the jet regulator ( 1 ) comprising a jet regulator housing ( 4 ) configured to be inserted into the water outlet ( 2 ) of the sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) from a direction of an outlet end side and which, in a use position, is releasably fastened or fixed in the water outlet ( 2 ) by a latching part, which comprises at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) integrally formed on an outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ), the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) each having a free arm end ( 7 ), which, in the use position, engages the undercut ( 8 ) thereby securing the jet regulator ( 1 ) in the outlet fitting ( 3 ) wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are spaced apart and define a free space therebetween, the free arm end ( 7 ) of the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) is spaced apart from the outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ) defining a release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) insertion portion, configured to receive a release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) into the free space between the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) and the housing outer periphery. 2. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) bias the free arm end ( 7 ) away from the jet regulator housing ( 4 ) towards the undercut ( 8 ) of the water outlet ( 2 ). 3. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are connected to one another by a common tool stop ( 10 ). 4. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are aligned in a flow direction of a water jet emerging from the outlet fitting and extend tangentially to the jet regulator housing ( 4 ). 5. The combination of claim 1 , wherein a pulling movement on the release and/or removal tool ( 9 ), inserted into the free space, applied to an outer side of the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ), acts on the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) with pressure in an outlet direction such that the free arm end ( 7 ) which is arranged opposite at an outflow side can be deflected inwardly and away from the under ( 8 ) of the water outlet. 6. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the jet regulator ( 1 ) further comprises a tool stop ( 10 ) arranged on the free arm section of at least one spring arm ( 5 , 6 ), the tool stop ( 10 ) interacts with the inserted release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) in such a way that a pulling force on the release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) is transmitted to the spring arm ( 5 , 6 ) and to the jet regulator housing ( 4 ) which is connected thereto. 7. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ) comprises at least one molded-out or molded-in portion ( 13 ) with at least one axially aligned guide wall ( 14 , 15 ) the at least one molded-out or molded-in portion ( 13 ) engages a counterpart guide surface ( 16 , 17 ) of the release and/or removal tool ( 9 ), when inserted. 8. The combination of claim 7 , wherein the at least one molded-in portion ( 13 ) with the at least one axially aligned guide wall ( 14 , 15 ) engages counterpart guide surfaces ( 16 , 17 ) provided at both sides on the release and/or removal tool ( 9 ), when inserted. 9. The combination of claim 8 , wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are provided in a region of the at least one molded-in portion ( 13 ). 10. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) each have an L-shape, and comprise a run-on bevel ( 11 ) in a region of a transverse web of the L shape. 11. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the jet regulator ( 1 ) has a non-circular profile, when viewed in a flow direction. 12. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the jet regulator ( 1 ) has an elongate or generally rectangular profile, when viewed in a flow direction. 13. A combination sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) and jet regulator ( 1 ), the outlet fitting ( 3 ) having a water outlet ( 2 ) comprising an undercut ( 8 ) on an inner periphery thereof, the jet regulator ( 1 ) comprising a jet regulator housing ( 4 ) configured to be inserted into the water outlet ( 2 ) of the sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) from a direction of an outlet end side and which, in a use position, is releasably fastened or fixed in the water outlet ( 2 ) by a latching part, which comprises at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) integrally formed on an outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ), the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) each having a free arm end ( 7 ), which, in the use position, engages the undercut ( 8 ) thereby securing the jet regulator ( 1 ) in the outlet fitting ( 3 ). wherein the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are spaced apart and define a free space therebetween, the free arm end ( 7 ) of the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) is spaced apart from the outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ) defining a release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) insertion portion, configured to receive a release and/or removal tool ( 9 ) into the free space between the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) and the housing outer periphery, the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are connected to one another by a common tool stop ( 10 ) and wherein the jet regulator ( 1 ) further comprises a run-on bevel ( 11 ) upstream of the tool stop ( 10 ) at an inflow side on an outside of the at least one spring arm ( 5 , 6 ), wherein the run-on bevel tapers counter to a pulling direction of the inserted release and/or removal tool ( 9 ). 14. A combination sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) and jet regulator ( 1 ), the outlet fitting ( 3 ) having a water outlet ( 2 ) comprising an undercut ( 8 ) on an inner periphery thereof, the jet regulator ( 1 ) comprising a jet regulator housing ( 4 ) configured to be inserted into the water outlet ( 2 ) of the sanitary outlet fitting ( 3 ) from a direction of an outlet end side and which, in a use position, is releasably fastened or fixed in the water outlet ( 2 ) by a latching part, which comprises at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) integrally formed on an outer periphery of the jet regulator housing ( 4 ), the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) each having a free arm end ( 7 ), which, in the use position, engages the undercut ( 8 ) thereby securing the jet regulator ( 1 ) in the outlet fitting ( 3 ), the at least two spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) each have an L-shape, and comprises a run-on bevel ( 11 ) in a region of a transverse web of the L shape, wherein the L-shaped spring arms ( 5 , 6 ) are in pairs and are of mirror-symmetrical design with respect to one another.
