What is claimed is: 1. A method of electronically providing athletic performance trend coaching information to a user based on an analysis of performance data from a plurality of athletic activities and identifying user improvement in an activity, the method comprising: receiving first electronic user position data and first electronic user heart rate data related to a previously completed running activity on a portable electronic device, the portable electronic device including a microprocessor, a display screen, a user input, a satellite positioning system receiver, an accelerometer, a memory, and a wireless communication transceiver, the first electronic user position data and the first electronic user heart rate data being stored in the memory; collecting second electronic user position data and second electronic user heart rate data related to a running activity on the portable electronic device, the second electronic user position data being determined via the satellite positioning system receiver, and the second electronic user position data and the second electronic user heart rate data being stored in the memory; receiving third electronic user position data and third electronic user heart rate data related to a previously completed cycling activity on the portable electronic device, the third electronic user position data and the third electronic user heart rate data being stored in the memory; collecting fourth electronic user position data and fourth electronic user heart rate data related to a cycling activity on the portable electronic device, the fourth electronic user position data being determined via the satellite positioning system receiver, and the fourth electronic user position data and the fourth electronic user heart rate data being stored in the memory; generating first electronic comparison data and determining whether a running performance trend is present based on an analysis of the first electronic user position data, the first electronic user heart rate data, the second electronic user position data, and the second electronic user heart rate data, wherein upon determining that a running performance trend is present, determining whether the trend represents improvement of the user's running performance and generating running performance trend information; generating second electronic comparison data and determining whether a cycling performance trend is present by comparing the third electronic user position data, the third electronic user heart rate data, the fourth electronic user position data, and the fourth electronic user heart rate data, wherein upon determining that a cycling performance trend is present, determining whether the trend represents improvement of the user's cycling performance and generating cycling performance trend information; displaying the running performance trend information and the cycling performance trend information on the display screen; and sending the running performance trend information and the cycling performance trend information via the wireless communication transceiver over at least one server to a remotely located computer for display on a display screen of the remotely located computer. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising calculating a speed based on an analysis of the first electronic user position data. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising calculating a speed based on an analysis of the second electronic user position data. 4. A method of electronically providing athletic performance trend coaching information to a user based on an analysis of performance data from a plurality of athletic activities, the method comprising: collecting first electronic user position data related to a first running activity on a portable electronic device, the portable electronic device including a microprocessor, a display screen, a user input, a satellite positioning system receiver, an accelerometer, a memory, and a wireless communication transceiver, the first electronic user position data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the first electronic user position data on the display screen; collecting second electronic user position data related to a second running activity, the second electronic user position data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the second electronic user position data on the display screen; collecting third electronic user position data related to a third running activity, the third electronic user data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the third electronic user position data on the display screen; generating first electronic comparison data and determining whether a running performance trend is present by comparing the first electronic user position data, the second electronic user position data, and the third electronic user position data, wherein upon determining that a running performance trend is present, generating running performance trend information; displaying the running performance trend information on the display screen. 5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising collecting fourth electronic user position data related to first cycling activity, the fourth electronic user position data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the fourth electronic data on the display screen; collecting fifth electronic user position data related to a second cycling activity, the fifth electronic user position data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the fifth electronic user position data on the display screen; collecting sixth electronic user position data related to a third cycling activity, the sixth electronic user position data being determined by the satellite positioning system receiver and stored in the memory; displaying the sixth electronic user position data on the display screen; generating second electronic comparison data and determining whether a cycling performance trend is present by comparing the fourth electronic user position data, the fifth electronic user position data, and the sixth electronic user position data, wherein upon determining that a cycling performance trend is present, generating cycling performance trend information; and displaying the cycling performance trend information on the display screen. 6. The method of claim 4 , further comprising calculating a speed based on an analysis of the first electronic user position data, the second electronic user position data, or the third electronic user position data. 7. The method of claim 4 , further comprising sending the running performance trend information via a wireless communication transceiver to a remotely located computer for display on a display screen of the remotely located computer. 8. The method of claim 4 , wherein the generating first electronic comparison data includes comparing the first electronic user position data, the second electronic user position data, and the third electronic user position data with fourth electronic user position data related to a plurality of completed running activities. 9. The method of claim 4 , wherein the generating first electronic comparison data and determining whether a running performance trend is present includes identifying improvement information representative of the user's running performance improvement, wherein the displaying the first electronic comparison data includes displaying the improvement information on the display screen. 10. The method of claim 4 ,
