Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

System(s), method(s) and user interfaces are provided to route an incoming communication (e.g., a voice call, a data call) to a wireless devices or a wireline device, based in part on at least one routing preference and a presence condition of a mobile device in a confined wireless environment served by a confined-coverage access point (AP). The at least one routing preference is subscriber-specific and configurable by the subscriber linked to the mobile device, whereas the presence condition reveals if the mobile device is attached to the confined-coverage AP and is automatically detected. A routing server acquires the at least one routing preference and the presence condition for the mobile device. Based on routing logic applied to the at least one routing preference and the presence information, the routing server directs the incoming communication to a set of wireline devices, a set of wireless devices, or a combination thereof.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: receiving, by a system comprising a processor, an indication to effect customized call processing to route an incoming call that has been initiated as a call to a called device; receiving, by the system, an access point device presence condition of a mobile device that conveys whether the mobile device is attached to an access point device, associated with the mobile device, that serves a defined coverage area, wherein the defined coverage area is associated with a customer premises equipment device area; receiving, by the system, a routing preference associated with the called device, wherein the routing preference comprises personalized data representing a preference to route the incoming call based on the access point device presence condition of the mobile device; determining, by the system, candidate destination devices based on the routing preference that facilitates determining that the candidate destination devices are associated with the mobile device, wherein the candidate destination devices comprise the called device; and selecting, by the system, a destination device of the candidate destination devices to effect the customized call processing based on the routing preference and the access point device presence condition of the mobile device, wherein the selecting comprises: identifying a group of candidate destination devices of the candidate destination devices, in response to determining that the called device is a wireless device; identifying a group of candidate device of the group of candidate destination devices as the destination device, in response to determining that the access point device presence condition conveys that the mobile device is attached to the access point device associated with the mobile device and based on the routing preference; and identifying another candidate device of the group of candidate destination devices, different than the candidate device, as the destination device, in response to determining that the access point device presence condition conveys that the mobile device is not attached to the access point device associated with the mobile device and based on the routing preference; and initiating, by the system, routing of the incoming call to the destination device. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selecting further comprises: identifying another group of candidate destination devices of the candidate destination devices associated with a wireline device, in response to determining that the called device is the wireline device; identifying the wireline device as the candidate device; and identifying the mobile device as the other candidate device. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selecting further comprises: determining whether a potentially attached device of the candidate destination devices is attached to the access point device associated with the mobile device, in response to determining that the mobile device is the called device and the access point device presence condition indicates that the mobile device is attached to the access point device associated with the mobile device; and identifying a disparate device as the candidate device, in response to determining that the disparate device is attached to the access point device associated with the mobile device. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving a notification of a mobility event for the mobile device, wherein the mobility event includes a change in an attachment status associated with the access point device; and replacing presence information associated with the presence condition of the mobile device with updated data, based on the notification of the mobility event. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein receiving the notification comprises receiving a message from the mobile device according to a peer-to-peer protocol. 6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising: instructing an interface to present an environment for configuration of the routing preference; and receiving data that defines the routing preference, in response to presenting the environment. 7. A system, comprising: a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: receiving a routing preference and a presence condition record of a mobile device, wherein the presence condition record represents whether the mobile device is attached to an access point device associated with the mobile device, wherein a defined coverage area served by the access point device is associated with a customer premises equipment device area, and wherein the routing preference defines a candidate group of destination devices associated with the mobile device; receiving an incoming call that is determined to be directed to a called device of the candidate group of destination devices, wherein the routing preference comprises personalized data representing a preference to route the incoming call to a destination device of the candidate group of destination devices based on the presence condition record of the mobile device; identifying candidate destination devices, in response to determining that the called device is a wireline device, of the candidate group of destination devices associated with the wireline device; selecting, based on the routing preference and the presence condition record of the mobile device conveying that the mobile device is attached to the access point device, a device, from the candidate destination devices associated with the mobile device, as the destination device; selecting, based on the routing preference and the presence condition record of the mobile device conveying that the mobile device is not attached to the access point device, a disparate device, from the candidate destination devices associated with the mobile device, as the destination device; and directing the incoming call to the destination device. 8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the candidate group of destination devices includes the mobile device attached to the access point device, and the wireline device that operates within the defined coverage area. 9. The system of claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the presence condition record of the mobile device. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the sending the presence condition record of the mobile device comprises sending a message that notifies of a mobility event of the mobile device, and wherein the mobility event is an event of a group of events comprising an attachment to the access point device, a detachment from the access point device, a location area update, and a routing area update. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the message that notifies of the mobility event of the mobile device. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the sending the message that notifies of the mobility event of the mobile device comprises sending the message in accordance with a peer-to-peer communication protocol. 13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise transmitting an instruction to present an environment for configuring the routing preference and receiving data that defines the routing preference. 14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise, in response to presenting the environment, conveying data that defines the routing preference. 15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise presenting the environment via an interface of the mobile device. 16. A non-transitory mach
