A method of treating an ocular pathology by generating high intensity focused ultrasound onto at least one eye's area, the method comprises at least the following steps of: positioning onto the eye a device capable of directing high intensity focused ultrasound onto at least one annular segment, and generating high intensity focused ultrasound energy onto the segment to treat at least one annular segment in the eye. Another embodiment of the invention concerns a device for treatment of an ocular pathology comprising at least one eye ring wherein the proximal end of the eye ring is suitable to be applied onto the globe and a high intensity focused ultrasound beam generator to generate ultrasound beam fixed on the distal end of the eye ring capable of treating the whole circumference of the eye in one step.

The invention claimed is: 1. A device for treatment of an ocular pathology comprising at least one eye ring sized and shaped to fit on to an eye globe; the eye ring comprising a proximal end and a distal end with regard to the eye globe, wherein a small base is the proximal end and a large base is the distal end, said proximal end being suitable to be placed onto the eye globe, where in the eye ring further comprises a circular opening in the center, and a high intensity focused ultrasound beam generator fixed on the distal end of the eye ring, the high intensity focused ultrasound beam generator comprising a housing and two pairs of transducers separated by two inactive sectors, wherein each transducer has a rectangular profile and is fixed on the distal end of the eye ring in such a way that said transducers extend from the opening of the eye ring toward an external edge of the housing, and wherein the transducers are tuned towards a ciliary body for treatment. 2. A device according to claim 1 , wherein the proximal end of the eye ring further comprises an external annular flange suitable to be applied onto the eye globe. 3. A device according to claim 1 , wherein the proximal edge of the eye ring further comprises an annular groove communicating with at least one hose formed in the eye ring and connected to a suction device. 4. A device according to claim 1 wherein the internal diameter of the proximal end of the eye ring is equal to the sum of the corneal diameter plus 2 to 6 millimeters. 5. A device according to claim 1 wherein the eye ring is in medical grade silicon or in medical grade polymer. 6. A device according to claim 1 wherein said two pairs of transducers have an annular flat segment shape, and further include a focusing acoustic lens extending under said transducers. 7. A device according to claim 1 wherein said two pairs of transducers have a cylindrical segment shape. 8. A device according to claim 1 , wherein said high intensity focused ultrasound beam generator comprises two pairs of three transducers separated by two inactive sectors. 9. A device according to claim 1 , wherein said transducers are placed peripherally over the whole or peripherally over a part of the housing. 10. A device according to claim 1 , wherein said transducers are circumferentially placed over the whole or a part of the circumference of the housing. 11. A device according to claim 1 wherein the housing comprises an annular groove disposed at an external edge of the housing to be coupled with an annular lug disposed at the distal end of the eye ring. 12. A device according to claim 2 wherein the external annular flange comprises a concave profile having a radius of curvature substantially equal to a radius of curvature of the eye globe. 13. A method of treating an ocular pathology by generating high intensity focused ultrasound onto the ciliary body, the method comprising at least the following: positioning onto the eye, the device of claim 1 capable of directing high intensity focused ultrasound onto the ciliary body, generating high intensity focused ultrasound energy onto said ciliary body in order to burn the ciliary body over the whole or a part of its circumference. 14. The method according to claim 13 wherein the frequency of high intensity focused ultrasound is in a range of about 1 to 20 MHz. 15. The method according to claim 13 wherein the energy generated by each transducer is in an ultrasound burst having duration less than 60 seconds. 16. The method according to claim 13 wherein the eye is cooled. 17. A device according to claim 11 wherein an external radius of the housing is equal to the internal diameter of the distal end of the eye ring.
