An ignition device that ignites a mixture including an oxidizer and fuel includes a heating element ( 1 ) that has a heat generation region ( 1 a ) generating formerly heat to a temperature above the ignition temperature of the mixture (Y) at a tip projected downward from an installation unit ( 100 ), a fuel holding unit ( 2 ) that encloses the heat generation region ( 1 a ), in which the heat generation region ( 1 a ) is installed inside thereof and has a through hole ( 2 a ) opened to an upper part thereof, and a surrounding wall ( 3 ) that forms a space (R) connected to the upper part of the through hole ( 2 a ) and has a flame ejection opening ( 3 a ) opened from the space (R) to the outside. According to the ignition device, an ignitability of the ignition device can be improved.
