Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A corrosion inhibitor composition and method of inhibiting corrosion on a surface in an oil or gas application is disclosed and claimed. The corrosion inhibitor includes at least one fatty acid; at least one alkanolamine; at least one alkylamine; and at least one organic sulfonic acid. The method of inhibiting corrosion includes on a surface in an oil or gas application comprises contacting an effective dosage of the corrosion inhibitor with the surface.

First claim

The invention claimed is: 1. A corrosion inhibitor composition comprising: a salt having formula (1): optionally at least one alkylamine; and a salt having formula (5): 2. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising a salt of formula (2): 3. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 2 , further comprising the salt having formula (6): a salt having formula (3): and a salt having formula (4): 4. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one dispersant. 5. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 4 , wherein the at least one dispersant comprises at least one oxyalkylate polymer. 6. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one solvent. 7. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 6 , wherein the at least one solvent comprises at least one selected from: methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, isobutanol, aromatic hydrocarbons, monoethyleneglycol, ethyleneglycolmonobutylether, and combinations thereof. 8. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , comprising about 10 wt % to about 100 wt % of the salt having formula (1); the alkylamine; and the salt having formula (5). 9. A method of inhibiting corrosion on a surface in an oil or gas application, the method comprising contacting an effective dosage of the corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 with the surface. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the effective dosage range is between about 10 ppm to about 10,000 ppm. 11. The method of claim 9 , further comprising dosing the corrosion inhibitor composition into an annulus of a well; allowing the dosed corrosion inhibitor composition to travels into the well; and recovering the corrosion inhibitor composition with a produced fluid thereby avoiding entering a formation. 12. The method of claim 9 , further comprising treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore comprising pumping through well tubular goods and injecting into the subterranean formation the effective dosage of said corrosion inhibitor composition to inhibit corrosion of metallic surfaces of said well tubular goods in contact with said composition. 13. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising a salt of formula (3): 14. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising a salt of formula (4): 15. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 1 , further comprising the salt of formula (6): 16. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 2 , further comprising a salt of formula (3): 17. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 2 , further comprising a salt of formula (4): 18. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 2 , further comprising a salt of formula (6): 19. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 13 , further comprising a salt of formula (4): 20. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 13 , further comprising a salt of formula (6): 21. The corrosion inhibitor composition of claim 14 , further comprising a salt of formula (6): 22. The method of claim 9 , further comprising a salt of formula (2): 23.
