Compounds having a structure of Formula I and compositions comprising these compounds are provided. Uses of such compounds and compositions are provided for treatment or prophylaxis of viral infection. In particular, compounds and compositions may be for use in the treatment or prophylaxis of viral influenza.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of modulating viral neuraminidase activity comprising contacting a viral neuraminidase with a compound selected from the group consisting of: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the viral neuraminidase is a GH34 neuraminidase. 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the viral neuraminidase is an influenza neuraminidase. 4. The method according to claim 3 , wherein modulating a viral neuraminidase comprises administering the compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to an animal having influenza, and is effective to treat influenza in the animal. 5. The method according to claim 4 , wherein the animal is a mammal. 6. The method according to claim 4 , wherein the animal is a human. 7. A method of treating influenza in an animal comprising administering to the animal a compound selected from the group consisting of: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the compound modulates viral neuraminidase activity. 8. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the viral neuraminidase is a GH34 neuraminidase. 9. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the viral neuraminidase is an influenza neuraminidase. 10. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the animal is a mammal. 11. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the animal is a human. 12. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient and a compound selected from the group consisting of: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
