Official abstract text for this publication.
A recording apparatus includes a recording head that ejects liquid onto a recording medium, a transporting device that transports the recording medium along a supporting surface of a supporting member, and a preheating device that preheats the recording medium to the upstream side of the recording head in a transporting direction of the recording medium. The preheating device includes a preheating unit that increases the amount of heat per unit time which is applied to the recording medium as the recording medium is moved toward the downstream side in the transporting direction. The supporting member includes the supporting surface and bending portions.

What is claimed is: 1. A recording apparatus comprising: a recording head that ejects liquid onto a recording medium; a transporting device that transports the recording medium in a transporting direction includes: a first supporting member that includes a first supporting surface, the first supporting member disposed on an upstream side of the recording head with respect to a transporting direction, the first supporting member collectively forming a curve, the first supporting member including a first heating section that heats the recording medium; and a second supporting member that includes a second supporting surface, the second supporting member disposed on a downstream side of the recording head with respect to the transporting direction, the second supporting member collectively forming a curve, the second supporting member including a second heating section that heats the recording medium, wherein the transporting device transports the recording medium along the first supporting surface and the second supporting surface, and wherein the first supporting member includes a plurality of bending portions, wherein a distance between the plurality of bending portions decrease toward the downstream side with respect to the transporting direction, the plurality of bending portions generating a temperature gradient that gradually increases towards the downstream side. 2. The recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein portions of the first supporting member disposed between the plurality of bending portions collectively form the curve of the first supporting member. 3. The recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second supporting member includes a plurality of bending portions and portions of the second supporting member disposed between the plurality of bending portions collectively form the curve of the second supporting member. 4. The recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first heating section is disposed at regular distances in the transporting direction. 5. The recording apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the first heating section includes a plurality of heating sources arranged along the first supporting surface and a temperature control unit that increases the temperature of the plurality of heating sources arranged, toward the downstream side in the transporting direction. 6. A recording apparatus comprising: a recording head that ejects liquid onto a recording medium; a transporting device that includes: a first supporting member that includes a first supporting surface, the first supporting member disposed on an upstream side of the recording head with respect to a transporting direction, the first supporting member including a first heating section that heats the recording medium; and a second supporting member that includes a second supporting surface, the second supporting member disposed on a downstream side of the recording head with respect to the transporting direction, the second supporting member including a second heating section that heats the recording medium, wherein the transporting device transports the recording medium along the first supporting surface and the second supporting surface, wherein the first supporting member includes a plurality of bending portions, wherein distances between the plurality of bending portions decrease toward the downstream side with respect to the transporting direction, the plurality of bending portions generating a temperature gradient that gradually increases towards the downstream side, and wherein the first heating section includes a plurality of heating sources that are arranged at regular gaps in the transporting direction. 7. The recording apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein portions of the supporting member disposed between the plurality of bending portions collectively form the curve of the first supporting member. 8. The recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the second supporting member includes a plurality of bending portions and portions of the supporting member disposed between the plurality of bending portions collectively form a curve. 9. The recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the first heating section includes a temperature control unit that increases the temperature of the plurality of heating sources. 10. The recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the bending portions are arranged transversely to the transporting direction. 11. The recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the plurality of bending portions are arranged transversely to the transporting direction. 12. A recording apparatus comprising: a recording head that ejects liquid onto a recording medium; a transporting device that includes: a first supporting member that includes a first supporting surface, the first supporting member disposed on an upstream side of the recording head with respect to a transporting direction, the first supporting member including a first heating section that heats the recording medium; and wherein the transporting device transports the recording medium along the first supporting surface and the second supporting surface, wherein the first supporting member includes a plurality of bending portions, wherein distances between the bending portions at an upstream side of the first supporting member are larger than distances between bending portions at a downstream side of the first supporting member, the plurality of bending portions generating a temperature gradient that gradually decreases towards the upstream side, and wherein the first heating section includes a plurality of heating sources that are arranged at regular gaps in the transporting direction. 13. The recording apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein portions of the first supporting member disposed between the plurality of bending portions collectively form the curve of the first supporting member. 14. The recording apparatus according to claim 13 , further comprising a second supporting member that includes a second supporting surface, the second supporting member disposed on a downstream side of the recording head with respect to the transporting direction, the second supporting member including a plurality of bending portions and a second heating section that heats the recording medium to a second temperature. 15. The recording apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the first heating section includes a temperature control unit that increases the temperature of the plurality of heating sources.
