The invention claimed is: 1. A generator motor connected to an output shaft of an engine mounted in a work machine, the generator motor comprising: a housing configured to be fixed to the engine of the work machine; a rotation shaft that extends horizontally; and a terminal box that is attached to the housing and that houses an entirety of a socket contact that is electrically coupled to a stator coil of the generator motor, wherein the socket contact is oriented facing vertically downward and configured to detachably connect to a pin contact provided on an exterior electric-power-supplying cable that extends vertically upward toward a top surface of the generator motor, the pin contact being configured to be plugged in and unplugged from the socket contact in a vertical direction from vertically underneath the socket contact. 2. The generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein an inside of the generator motor is cooled by a cooling medium, and the terminal box is connected to the generator motor at a position that is vertically higher than a rotation shaft of the generator motor. 3. The generator motor according to claim 2 , wherein the terminal box is connected to the generator motor at a position that is vertically lower than the top surface of the generator motor. 4. The generator motor according to claim 1 , further comprising: a cable-insertion hole that enables communication between the inside of the generator motor and an inside of the terminal box; and a closing member that closes the cable-insertion hole except for the cable. 5. The generator motor according to claim 4 , further comprising: a communication hole separate from the cable-insertion hole that enables communication between the inside of the generator motor and the inside of the terminal box. 6. The generator motor according to claim 5 , wherein a bottom portion of the terminal box is positioned at a lower side of the terminal box, and an inner surface of the bottom portion is inclined downward toward the communication hole. 7. A work machine comprising: a working equipment; a counterweight that is filled with weights for weight balance against the working equipment; and the generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein the generator motor is provided near the counterweight, and the terminal box is provided to a side surface of the generator motor facing the counterweight. 8. The generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein the socket contact is oriented facing vertically downward toward a bottom surface of the generator motor. 9. The generator motor according to claim 2 , wherein the exterior electric-power-supplying cable extends from a height that is vertically below the output shaft to a height that is vertically above the output shaft. 10. The generator motor according to claim 2 , wherein the cooling medium comprises a cooling oil. 11. The generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein the pin contact is connectable to the socket contact along a plane that is orthogonal to a rotation shaft of the generator motor. 12. The generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein the exterior electric-power-supplying cable is insertable into the terminal box through a vertically lowermost surface of the terminal box. 13. The generator motor according to claim 1 , wherein the terminal box is a detachable component of the generator motor. 14. A generator motor connected to an output shaft of an engine mounted in a work machine, the generator motor comprising: a housing configured to be fixed to the engine of the work machine; a stator coil; a rotation shaft; and a terminal box that is attached to the housing and that houses an entirety of a socket contact that is electrically coupled to the stator coil, wherein the generator motor has a top surface above the rotation shaft of the generator motor and a bottom surface below the rotation shaft, and wherein the socket contact is oriented away from the top surface and toward the bottom surface, and a top end of an exterior electric-power-supplying cable that extends toward the top surface of the generator motor is detachably connectable upward to the socket contact from vertically underneath the socket contact along a plane that is orthogonal to the rotation shaft. 15. The generator motor according to claim 14 , wherein the exterior electric-power-supplying cable is insertable into the terminal box through a bottommost surface of the terminal box. 16. The generator motor according to claim 14 , wherein the terminal box is a detachable component of the generator motor. 17. A generator motor connected to an output shaft of an engine mounted in a work machine, the generator motor comprising: a housing configured to be fixed to the engine of the work machine; a stator coil; a rotation shaft; a socket having a socket contact that is electrically coupled to the stator coil; a terminal box that is attached to the housing and that houses an entirety of the socket contact; and an exterior electric-power-supplying cable having a pin contact that is configured to detachably connect to the socket contact, the exterior electric-power-supplying cable being configured to connect the generator motor to an inverter, wherein the socket and exterior electric-power-supplying cable are axially aligned at an intersection point thereof, and wherein the axial alignment between the socket and exterior electric-power-supplying cable is orthogonal to the rotation shaft and oriented vertically upward toward a top surface of the generator motor. 18. The generator motor according to claim 17 , wherein the exterior electric-power-supplying cable is insertable into the terminal box through a vertically lowermost surface of the terminal box. 19. The generator motor according to claim 17 , wherein the terminal box is a detachable component of the generator motor.
