What is claimed is: 1. A method for using a fantasy sports contest application to manage a plurality of fantasy sports team roster, the method comprising: receiving, at first user television equipment, a roster transaction proposal from a first user having a first fantasy sports team roster, wherein the roster transaction proposal is received via a dedicated button on a user input interface; accessing a database of fantasy sports team rosters to identify a second fantasy sports team roster of a second user, wherein the database of fantasy sports team rosters is located at a server remote from the first user television equipment; determining, at the first user television equipment, whether a performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster of the second user will improve based on the roster transaction proposal; and in response to determining that the performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster of the second user will improve based on the roster transaction proposal, transmitting an alert, for display on a display of a second user television equipment, to the second user, the alert having at least one recommended change associated with the roster transaction proposal. 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the roster transaction proposal comprises at least an offer to exchange a first athlete from the first fantasy sports team roster for a second athlete from the second fantasy sports team roster. 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the performance score total is determined based on one or more single game performance criteria or one or more long term game performance criteria of one or more athletes on the first fantasy sports team roster. 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the at least one recommended change comprises identifying at least a second athlete on the second fantasy sports team roster to be exchanged for a first athlete included in the roster transaction proposal from the first user. 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the second user is selected by the first user. 6. The method of claim 1 further comprises: determining a plurality of proposals from other users associated with the roster transaction proposal received from the first user; and determining a proposal out of the plurality of proposals that improves the performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster the most. 7. The method of claim 6 further comprises ranking the plurality of proposals by amount of improvement. 8. The method of claim 1 further comprises: receiving a counter roster transaction proposal from the second user; determining whether the performance score total of the first fantasy sports team roster will improve based on the counter roster transaction proposal; and transmitting a second alert to the first user, in response to determining the performance score total of the first fantasy sports team roster, the second alert having at least a second recommended change associated with the counter roster transaction proposal. 9. The method of claim 1 further comprises updating, based on whether the second user accepts the at least one recommended change, the first and the second fantasy sports team roster to reflect the at least one recommended change. 10. The method of claim 1 further comprises storing the roster transaction proposal as one or more selectable elements wherein the selectable elements enable a user to perform one or more actions with respect to the roster transaction proposal. 11. A system for using a fantasy sports contest application to manage a plurality of fantasy sports team roster, the system comprising: a user input interface having a dedicated button for receiving roster transaction proposals; a first user television equipment configured to: receive a roster transaction proposal from a first user having a first fantasy sports team roster, wherein the roster transaction proposal is received via a dedicated button on a user input interface; access a database of fantasy sports team rosters to identify a second fantasy sports team roster of a second user, wherein the database of fantasy sports team rosters is located at a server remote from the first user television equipment; determine whether a performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster of the second user will improve based on the roster transaction proposal; and in response to determining that the performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster of the second user will improve based on the roster transaction proposal, transmit an alert to the second user, the alert having at least one recommended change associated with the roster transaction proposal, wherein the alert is generated for display on a display of a second user television equipment. 12. The system of claim 11 wherein the roster transaction proposal comprises at least an offer to exchange a first athlete from the first fantasy sports team roster for a second athlete from the second fantasy sports team roster. 13. The system of claim 11 wherein the performance score total is determined based on one or more single game performance criteria or one or more long term game performance criteria of one or more athletes on the first fantasy sports team roster. 14. The system of claim 11 wherein the at least one recommended change comprises identifying at least a second athlete on the second fantasy sports team roster to be exchanged for a first athlete included in the roster transaction proposal from the first user. 15. The system of claim 11 wherein the second user is selected by the first user. 16. The system of claim 11 wherein the first user television equipment is further configured to: determine a plurality of proposals from other users associated with the roster transaction proposal received from the first user; and determine a proposal out of the plurality of proposals that improves the performance score total of the second fantasy sports team roster the most. 17. The system of claim 16 wherein the first user television equipment is further configured to rank the plurality of proposals by amount of improvement. 18. The system of claim 11 wherein the first user television equipment is further configured to: receive a counter roster transaction proposal from the second user; determine whether the performance score total of the first fantasy sports team roster will improve based on the counter roster transaction proposal; and transmit a second alert to the first user, in response to determining the performance score total of the first fantasy sports team roster, the second alert having at least a second recommended change associated with the counter roster transaction proposal. 19. The system of claim 11 wherein the first user television equipment is further configured to update, based on whether the second user accepts the at least one recommended change, the first and the second fantasy sports team roster to reflect the at least one recommended change. 20. The system of claim 11 wherein the first user television equipment is further configured to store the roster transaction proposal as one or more selectable elements wherein the selectable elements enable a user to perform one or more actions with respect to the roster transaction proposal.
