The present invention provides a radical composition capable of suppressing elution of electrode components in an electrolyte solution when used in an electrode for a secondary battery, and a battery using the radical composition. The present invention relates to a radical composition including a pyrroline nitroxide polymer and polyethylene glycols.

The invention claimed is: 1. A radical composition comprising: a pyrroline nitroxide polymer; and polyethylene glycols, the amount of the polyethylene glycol being 0.5 to 10 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the pyrroline nitroxide polymer, the polyethylene glycols having a number average molecular weight in a range from 500 Daltons to 400,000 Daltons; wherein the pyrroline nitroxide polymer is obtained by polymerization of a pyrroline nitroxide compound represented by formula (1) or formula (2): wherein n represents 0 or 1 2. A battery comprising the radical composition according to claim 1 .
