In various embodiments, wavelength beam combining laser systems incorporate optics having optical power along the non-WBC direction (and/or the slow-diverging axis) of the combined multi-wavelength beam proximate to or combined with the partially reflective output coupler in order to correct pointing variation in the non-WBC direction (and/or the slow-diverging axis).

What is claimed is: 1. A laser system comprising: an array of beam emitters each emitting a beam; focusing optics for focusing the beams toward a dispersive element; a dispersive element for receiving and dispersing the focused beams in a wavelength beam combining (WBC) direction, thereby forming a multi-wavelength beam, the multi-wavelength beam having a WBC direction and a non-WBC direction; and a hybrid partially reflective output coupler for receiving the multi-wavelength beam, reflecting a first portion thereof back toward the dispersive element, and transmitting a second portion thereof as an output beam composed of multiple wavelengths, wherein the hybrid partially reflective output coupler has optical power along the non-WBC direction of the multi-wavelength beam for correcting pointing variation of the multi-wavelength beam in the non-WBC direction. 2. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein the hybrid partially reflective output coupler comprises (i) a first surface having the optical power along the non-WBC direction of the multi-wavelength beam, and (ii) a second surface that is partially reflective. 3. The laser system of claim 2 , wherein the first surface is curved and the second surface is substantially flat. 4. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein the dispersive element comprises a diffraction grating. 5. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein the focusing optics comprises at least one of a cylindrical lens or a cylindrical mirror. 6. The laser system of claim 1 , further comprising an optical fiber into which the output beam is coupled. 7. The laser system of claim 6 , further comprising, disposed optically upstream of the optical fiber, second focusing optics for coupling the output beam into the optical fiber, the pointing variation correction in the non-WBC direction by the hybrid partially reflective output coupler increasing an amount of the output beam coupled into the optical fiber. 8. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein an optical distance between the array of beam emitters and the hybrid partially reflective output coupler is approximately equal to a focal length of the hybrid partially reflective output coupler. 9. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein the hybrid partially reflective output coupler lacks optical power along the WBC direction of the multi-wavelength beam. 10. The laser system of claim 1 , wherein the hybrid partially reflective output coupler has optical power along the WBC direction of the multi-wavelength beam. 11. The laser system of claim 1 , further comprising, disposed optically downstream of the array of beam emitters and optically upstream of the hybrid partially reflective output coupler, one or more optical elements introducing pointing variation in the non-WBC direction, the pointing variation in the non-WBC direction introduced by the one or more optical elements being at least partially corrected by the hybrid partially reflective output coupler. 12. The laser system of claim 11 , wherein an optical distance between at least one of the optical elements and the hybrid partially reflective output coupler is approximately equal to a focal length of the hybrid partially reflective output coupler. 13.
