The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of a binder and from 0.01 to 2 weight percent, based on the weight of the binder, of a defoamer characterized by the following structure: wherein R 1 , R 2 , x, y, m, and n are defined herein. The composition of the present invention is especially useful in reducing foam formation in a low VOC paint formulation.
