The invention claimed is: 1. A stationary phase comprising a polymer having, in main chain repeat units, an aromatic ring that forms a portion of the main chain and a bipolar atomic group that forms a portion of the main chain, wherein the stationary phase has a specific surface area of 5 to 1000 m 2 /g and the polymer is supported on a carrier that has a specific surface area of 5 to 1000 m 2 /g. 2. The stationary phase according to claim 1 , wherein the polymer is a polyester, a polysulfone, a polyethersulfone, or a polycarbonate. 3. The stationary phase according to claim 2 , wherein the polymer is a polyester. 4. The stationary phase according to claim 3 , wherein the polyester is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyethylene isophthalate, poly(2,2-dimethylpropan-1,3-diyl terephthalate), or poly-4-oxymethylbenzoyl. 5. The stationary phase according to claim 1 , which is a particulate. 6. The stationary phase according to claim 5 , wherein the average particle diameter is 0.1 μm or 1000 μm. 7. The stationary phase according to claim 1 , which is a monolith. 8. The stationary phase according to claim 1 , which is for supercritical fluid chromatography.
