What is claimed is: 1. A mobile computer comprising: a processor configured to send a poll to a vehicle based computer in proximity to the mobile computer, the processor further configured to send the poll to the vehicle based computer via a Bluetooth link; a transceiver configured to receive a text message via a cellular network; circuitry configured to send the received text message to the vehicle based computer via the Bluetooth link, the sent text message configured to affect a radio volume associated with the vehicle based computer; and wherein the Bluetooth link between the mobile computer and the vehicle based computer is arranged in relation to the poll sent to the vehicle based computer from the mobile computer. 2. The mobile computer of claim 1 further comprising: the processor configured to control, remotely by the mobile computer via the cellular network, locks, lights, or a horn of a vehicle of the vehicle based computer. 3. The mobile computer of claim 1 , wherein the text message is subsequently displayed on a display electrically coupled to the vehicle based computer. 4. A method performed by a mobile computer, the method comprising: sending, by the mobile computer, a poll to a vehicle based computer in proximity to the mobile computer, wherein the poll to the vehicle based computer is sent via a Bluetooth link; receiving, by the mobile computer, a text message via a cellular network; sending, by the mobile computer, the received text message to the vehicle based computer via the Bluetooth link, the sent text message configured to affect a radio volume associated with the vehicle based computer; and wherein the Bluetooth link between the mobile computer and the vehicle based computer is arranged in relation to the poll sent to the vehicle based computer from the mobile computer. 5. The method of claim 4 further comprising: controlling, remotely by the mobile computer via the cellular network, locks, lights, or a horn of a vehicle of the vehicle based computer. 6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the text message is subsequently displayed on a display electrically coupled to the vehicle based computer. 7. A vehicle based computer comprising: a transceiver configured to receive, from a mobile computer, a poll, wherein a Bluetooth link between the mobile computer and the vehicle based computer is arranged in relation to the poll; the transceiver further configured to receive, from the mobile computer using the Bluetooth link, contact information; a processor configured to receive, from the mobile computer using the Bluetooth link, a cellular based text message, wherein the reception of the text message causes a change to a radio volume associated with the vehicle based computer; wherein the contact information includes a phone number; and wherein the mobile computer is in physical proximity to the vehicle based computer. 8. The vehicle based computer of claim 7 further comprising: the processor further configured to receive, remotely from the mobile computer via a cellular network, an instruction to control locks, lights, or a horn of a vehicle of the vehicle based computer. 9. The vehicle based computer of claim 7 , wherein the text message is displayed on a display electrically coupled to the vehicle based computer. 10. A method performed by a vehicle based computer, the method comprising: receiving, by the vehicle based computer from a mobile computer, a poll, wherein a Bluetooth link between the mobile computer and the vehicle based computer is arranged in relation to the poll; receiving, by the vehicle based computer from the mobile computer using the Bluetooth link, contact information; receiving, from the mobile computer using the Bluetooth link, a cellular based text message, wherein the reception of the text message causes a change to a radio volume associated with the vehicle based computer; wherein the contact information includes a phone number; and wherein the mobile computer is in physical proximity to the vehicle based computer. 11. The method of claim 10 further comprising: receiving, by a processor of the vehicle based computer remotely from the mobile computer via a cellular network, an instruction to control locks, lights, or a horn of a vehicle of the vehicle based computer. 12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the text message is displayed on a display electrically coupled to the vehicle based computer.
