Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

One pixel is divided into a first region including a first light emitting element and a second region including a second light emitting element, wherein the first region emits light in one direction and the second region emits light in the direction opposite to that of the first region. Independently driving the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element allows images to be displayed independently on the surface.

The invention claimed is: 1. A display panel comprising: a plurality of light emitting elements, wherein the plurality of light emitting elements comprise a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element, wherein an insulating film is located over and in contact with a first electrode of the first light emitting element and a first electrode of the second light emitting element, wherein the first light emitting element comprises: a light emitting layer over the first electrode of the first light emitting element and the insulating film; and a second electrode over the light emitting layer, wherein the display panel is a double-sided light emitting display panel. 2. The display panel according to claim 1 , wherein the insulating film covers an end of the first electrode of the first light emitting element and an end of the first electrode of the second light emitting element. 3. The display panel according to claim 1 , wherein each of a bottom surface of the first electrode, a bottom surface of the second electrode, and a bottom surface of the insulating film is in contact with a surface. 4. The display panel according to claim 1 , wherein light emitted from one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a first display surface of the display panel, wherein light emitted from the other one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a second display surface of the display panel, wherein the second display surface is an opposite surface of the first display surface, and wherein the display panel is capable of controlling so that one of the first display surface and the second display surface does not display an image when the other one of the first display surface and the second display surface displays an image. 5. The display panel according to claim 1 , wherein the first electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a first transparent electrode, and wherein the second electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a second transparent electrode and a reflecting electrode over the second transparent electrode. 6. The display panel according to claim 1 , wherein the first light emitting element satisfies a condition for enhancing light with a wavelength of a visible region by an optical interference effect. 7. A notebook computer comprising the display panel according to claim 1 . 8. An electronic book comprising the display panel according to claim 1 , wherein the electronic book is capable of displaying two pages at the same time by the display panel. 9. A personal digital assistants comprising the display panel according to claim 1 , wherein the personal digital assistants is capable of viewing of websites. 10. A display panel comprising: a first substrate comprising plastic; a plurality of light emitting elements over the first substrate; and a second substrate over the plurality of light emitting elements, wherein the plurality of light emitting elements comprise a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element, wherein an insulating film is located over and in contact with a first electrode of the first light emitting element and a first electrode of the second light emitting element, wherein the first light emitting element comprises: a light emitting layer over the first electrode of the first light emitting element and the insulating film; and a second electrode over the light emitting layer, wherein the display panel is a double-sided light emitting display panel. 11. The display panel according to claim 10 , wherein the insulating film covers an end of the first electrode of the first light emitting element and an end of the first electrode of the second light emitting element. 12. The display panel according to claim 10 , wherein each of a bottom surface of the first electrode, a bottom surface of the second electrode, and a bottom surface of the insulating film is in contact with a surface. 13. The display panel according to claim 10 , wherein light emitted from one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a first display surface of the display panel, wherein light emitted from the other one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a second display surface of the display panel, wherein the second display surface is an opposite surface of the first display surface, and wherein the display panel is capable of controlling so that one of the first display surface and the second display surface does not display an image when the other one of the first display surface and the second display surface displays an image. 14. The display panel according to claim 10 , wherein the first electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a first transparent electrode, and wherein the second electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a second transparent electrode and a reflecting electrode over the second transparent electrode. 15. The display panel according to claim 10 , wherein the first light emitting element satisfies a condition for enhancing light with a wavelength of a visible region by an optical interference effect. 16. A notebook computer comprising the display panel according to claim 10 . 17. An electronic book comprising the display panel according to claim 10 , wherein the electronic book is capable of displaying two pages at the same time by the display panel. 18. A personal digital assistants comprising the display panel according to claim 10 , wherein the personal digital assistants is capable of viewing of websites. 19. A display panel comprising: a plurality of light emitting elements, wherein the plurality of light emitting elements comprise a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element, wherein an insulating film is located over and in contact with a first electrode of the first light emitting element and a first electrode of the second light emitting element, wherein the first light emitting element comprises: a light emitting layer over the first electrode of the first light emitting element and the insulating film; and a second electrode over the light emitting layer, wherein the first electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a first transparent electrode, and wherein the second electrode of the first light emitting element comprises a second transparent electrode and a reflecting electrode over the second transparent electrode. 20. The display panel according to claim 19 , wherein the insulating film covers an end of the first electrode of the first light emitting element and an end of the first electrode of the second light emitting element. 21. The display panel according to claim 19 , wherein each of a bottom surface of the first electrode, a bottom surface of the second electrode, and a bottom surface of the insulating film is in contact with a surface. 22. The display panel according to claim 19 , wherein light emitted from one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a first display surface of the display panel, wherein light emitted from the other one of the plurality of light emitting elements is extracted from a second display surface of the display panel, wherein the second display surface is an opposite surface of the first display surface, and wherein the display panel is capable of controlling so that one of the first display surface and the second display surface does not d
