What is claimed is: 1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising: an Rv1753c polypeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos: 1 and 3-7; and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. 2. An immunogenic composition comprising: an Rv1753c polypeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos: 1 and 3-7 and a non-specific immune response enhancer. 3. A fusion protein comprising an Rv1753c polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos: 1 and 3-7. 4. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 95% identical to SEQ ID NO:1. 5. The immunogenic composition according to claim 2 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 95% identical to SEQ ID NO:1.
