What is claimed is: 1. A method for assessing the level of an analyte within a human, the method comprising: (a) generating, using a signal averaging technique, electrocardiogram results from said human; and (b) comparing said results to a signal template to obtain an indication of the level of said analyte in said human, wherein said analyte is potassium, magnesium, calcium, or glucose. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating, using the signal averaging technique, said signal template. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein said signal template represents a level of analyte that is within the normal human physiologic range of levels for said analyte. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein said signal template represents a level of analyte that is outside the normal human physiologic range of levels for said analyte. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein said electrocardiogram results, when compared to said signal template, indicate that the level of said analyte in said human is within said normal human physiologic range of levels for said analyte. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein said electrocardiogram results, when compared to said signal template, indicate that the level of said analyte in said human is outside said normal human physiologic range of levels for said analyte. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein said analyte is potassium. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein said analyte is magnesium. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein said analyte is calcium. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein said analyte is glucose. 11. A method for assessing a change in the level of an analyte within a human as compared to a previously determined level of said analyte, wherein said method comprises: (a) generating, using a signal averaging technique, electrocardiogram results from said human, (b) comparing said results to a signal template to obtain an indication of the level of said analyte in said human, and (c) comparing the level of said analyte in said human to said previously determined level of said analyte to determine a change, wherein said change is a change that is not detectable based on visual inspection of an ECG tracing, and wherein said analyte is potassium, magnesium, calcium, or glucose. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein said change is less than 25 percent of the normal physiologic range of said analyte. 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein said change is less than 20 percent of the normal physiologic range of said analyte. 14. The method of claim 11 , wherein said change is less than 15 percent of the normal physiologic range of said analyte. 15. The method of claim 11 , wherein said change is less than 10 percent of the normal physiologic range of said analyte. 16. The method of claim 11 , wherein said change is less than 5 percent of the normal physiologic range of said analyte. 17. The method of claim 11 , wherein said analyte is potassium. 18. The method of claim 11 , wherein said analyte is magnesium. 19. The method of claim 11 , wherein said analyte is calcium. 20. The method of claim 11 , wherein said analyte is glucose. 21. A method for assessing a change in the level of an analyte within a human as compared to a previously determined level of said analyte, wherein said method comprises: (a) generating, using a signal averaging technique, an electrical recording result from an organ within said human, (b) comparing said result to a signal template to obtain an indication of the level of said analyte in said human, and (c) comparing the level of said analyte in said human to said previously determined level of said analyte to determine a change, wherein said change is a change that is not detectable based on visual inspection of an electrical recording of said organ, and wherein said analyte is potassium, magnesium, calcium, or glucose. 22. The method of claim 21 , wherein said organ is a heart. 23. The method of claim 21 , wherein said electrical recording result is an ECG tracing. 24. The method of claim 21 , wherein said analyte is potassium. 25. The method of claim 21 , wherein said analyte is magnesium. 26. The method of claim 21 , wherein said analyte is calcium. 27. The method of claim 21 , wherein said analyte is glucose.
