An oral care implement is provided, in one embodiment, with a plurality of spaced-apart tissue cleaning pads ( 400 ) radially arranged around a central axis ( 450 ) to form a grouping on one side of the head. A bridge ( 465 ) is positioned between each pad ( 400 ). Each pad ( 400 ) further preferably includes one or more protrusions ( 980 ) along an upper surface thereof. There also is provided a plurality of cleaning elements ( 150 ) extending from an opposite side of the head of the oral care implement and connected to the cleaning pads through the head.

What is claimed is: 1. An oral care implement comprising: a head having a first side including a plurality of first cleaning elements and a second side including a plurality of second cleaning elements; the plurality of first cleaning elements being spaced apart on the first side; the plurality of second cleaning elements being connected on the second side by bridges; and the plurality of first cleaning elements being connected to the plurality of second cleaning elements through the head; wherein the plurality of first cleaning elements are connected to the bridges that connect the plurality of second cleaning elements, and wherein the second cleaning elements further comprise a plurality of spaced-apart wedge-shaped elements radially arranged around a central axis, each wedge-shaped element having one or more protrusions, each wedge-shaped element having an inner region close to the central axis and an outer region spaced away from the central axis, the inner region being raised relative to the outer region. 2. The oral care implement of claim 1 , wherein the first cleaning elements extend along a first plane and the second cleaning elements extend along a second plane that is substantially perpendicular to the first plane. 3. The oral care implement of claim 1 , wherein each of the wedge-shaped elements comprises an outer surface with a plurality of edge regions that are at least partially raised from the second side of the head and at least one additional edge region that is flush with the second side of the head. 4. The oral care implement of claim 3 , wherein the one or more protrusions extend from on the outer surface of each of the wedge-shaped elements. 5. The oral care implement of claim 4 , wherein the one or more protrusions are aligned with an intersection of the plurality of edge regions that are at least partially raised. 6. The oral care implement of claim 5 , wherein each of the plurality of first cleaning elements further comprises a bifurcated cleaning element. 7. The oral care implement of claim 6 , wherein the bifurcated cleaning element further comprises protrusions. 8. The oral care implement of claim 1 , wherein the bridges extend between the inner regions of adjacent wedge-shaped elements that face one another. 9. An oral care implement comprising: a head having a first side including a plurality of first cleaning elements and a second side including a plurality of second cleaning elements; the plurality of first cleaning elements being spaced apart on the first side; the plurality of second cleaning elements being connected to one another on the second side by a bridge; and wherein the second cleaning elements further comprise a plurality of spaced-apart wedge-shaped elements radially arranged around a central axis, each wedge-shaped element having one or more protrusions, each wedge-shaped element having an inner region close to the central axis and an outer region spaced away from the central axis, the inner region being raised relative to the outer region. 10. The oral care implement of claim 9 , wherein the first cleaning elements extend along a first plane and the second cleaning elements extend along a second plane that is substantially perpendicular to the first plane. 11. The oral care implement of claim 9 , wherein each of the wedge-shaped elements comprises an outer surface with a plurality of edge regions that are at least partially raised from the second side of the head and at least one additional edge region that is flush with the second side of the head. 12. The oral care implement of claim 11 , wherein the one or more protrusions extend from the outer surface of each of the wedge-shaped elements. 13. The oral care implement of claim 12 , wherein the one or more protrusions are aligned with an intersection of the plurality of edge regions that are at least partially raised. 14. The oral care implement of claim 13 , wherein each of the plurality of first cleaning elements further comprises a bifurcated cleaning element. 15. The oral care implement of claim 14 , wherein the bifurcated cleaning element further comprises protrusions. 16. The oral care implement of claim 9 , wherein the bridge extends between the inner regions of adjacent wedge-shaped elements that face one another. 17. The oral care implement of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of first cleaning elements are connected to the plurality of second cleaning elements through the head. 18. The oral care implement of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of first cleaning elements are connected to the bridge that connects the plurality of second cleaning elements.
