Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Device for detecting the position of at least a first and a second hand of an electromechanical watch, said first and second hands moving above a dial, the detection device including a single light source emitting a light beam towards the first and second hands, and a first and a second light detection system, the light source and the first and second light detection systems being mounted on or underneath the dial, the light source and the first and second light detection systems being arranged so that, in a determined position of the first hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the first hand towards the first detection system, and in a determined position of the second hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the second hand towards the second detection system.

What is claimed is: 1. A device for detecting the position of at least a first hand and a second hand of an electromechanical watch, wherein the first hand and the second hand move above a dial, wherein the detection device includes a single light source emitting a light beam towards the first hand and the second hand, and a first light detector and a second light detector, wherein the light source and the first and second light detectors are mounted on or underneath the dial, wherein the light source and the first and second light detectors are arranged so that, in a determined position of the first hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the first hand towards the first detector, and in a determined position of the second hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the second hand towards the second detector, wherein the first hand and the second hand each include a reflective surface which reflects the light beam towards the first light detector, respectively the second light detector, wherein the reflective surfaces are arranged in a bottom face of the corresponding hand, and, wherein the reflective surfaces are symmetrical relative to a vertical axis of symmetry, and are inclined at an angle which increases from the top downwards. 2. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the light source and the first and second light detectors are aligned on a straight line which passes through a centre of the watch dial. 3. The detection device according to claim 2 , wherein the light source is arranged between the first and second light detectors. 4. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the light source emits a light beam vertically upwards. 5. The detection device according to claim 4 , wherein the light source is a vertical cavity surface emission laser. 6. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein in the case where the light source and the light detectors are mounted underneath the watch dial, either the dial is transparent to the wavelength of the light emitted by the light source, or the light source and the light detectors are disposed facing corresponding apertures arranged in the dial. 7. A device for detecting the position of at least a first hand and a second hand of an electromechanical watch, wherein the first hand and the second hand move above a dial, wherein the detection device includes a single light source emitting a light beam towards the first hand and the second hand, and a first light detector and a second light detector, wherein the light source and the first and second light detectors are mounted on or underneath the dial, wherein the light source and the first and second detectors are arranged so that, in a determined position of the first hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the first hand towards the first detector, and in a determined position of the second hand, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the second hand towards the second detector, wherein the bottom faces of the hour hand and the minute hand are provided with a first, respectively a second diffraction network of different periodicity.
