An apparatus including a seat post. The seat post can include an upper post, a lower post, a first mechanical energy source, a second mechanical energy source, and a control mechanism. The first mechanical energy source can be configured to contract the lower post and the upper post. The second mechanical energy source can be configured to expand the lower post and the upper post. The control mechanism can be configured to activate the first mechanical energy source to contract the lower post and the upper post to a first predetermined position.

What is claimed is: 1. An apparatus, comprising: a seat post including: an upper post; a lower post; a first mechanical energy source configured to contract the lower post and the upper post; a second mechanical energy source configured to expand the lower post and the upper post; and a control mechanism configured to activate the first mechanical energy source to contract the lower post and the upper post to a first predetermined position. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein: the control mechanism is further configured to activate the second mechanical energy source to expand the lower post and the upper post; and the second mechanical energy source is configured to contain more energy than the first mechanical energy source.
