The present invention is directed to a pharmaceuticalm composition comprising a peptide comprising at least a portion corresponding to the C-terminus of FGF23 and an additive selected from the group consisting of vitamin D and a vitamin D receptor agonist.

What is claimed: 1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising: a peptide comprising at least a portion corresponding to the C-terminus of FGF23, wherein the portion corresponding to the C-terminus of FGF23 consists of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:12 and an additive, wherein the additive is a vitamin D receptor agonist and is formulated in combination with said peptide for simultaneous administration. 2. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 , wherein the peptide consists of SEQ ID NO:12. 3. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 4. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 , wherein the composition is in the form of a tablet, capsule, powder, solution, suspension, or emulsion. 5. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 , wherein the composition is formulated for administration to a subject orally, parenterally, subcutaneously, intravenously, intramuscularly, intraperitoneally, by intranasal instillation, by implantation, by intracavitary or intravesical instillation, intraocularly, intraarterially, intralesionally, transdermally, or by application to mucous membranes. 6. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 , wherein the additive is vitamin D.
