First claim

Opening claim text (preview).

The invention claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: (a) first and second platforms comprising at least one set of wheels; and (b) a safety wall comprising a first wall section engaged with the first platform and a second wall section engaged with the second platform; wherein the first wall section and the second wall section are interconnected by a matching tongue and groove; wherein the first wall section and the second wall section defining an area protected from a vehicular incursion; wherein the matching tongue and groove permits the first wall section and the second wall section to move linearly relative to one another; and wherein a weight of the first and second wall sections is at least partially offset by a ballast box that is moveable, along a fixed path via rails, from one side of the first and/or second platform to the other side. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second wall sections are provided with a plurality of holes extending through the respective wall sections. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein when the first and second wall sections are placed in an extended position, the plurality of holes in each of the wall sections are aligned. 4. The system of claim 3 , wherein when the plurality of holes in each wall section are aligned, dowels are placed in the aligned plurality of holes. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the dowels are inserted into the plurality of holes passing from a backside of and through the wall sections. 6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the dowels are inserted and removed from the protected area. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein a length of the safety wall is adjustable by positioning the plurality of holes at selected intervals along the first and second wall sections. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein an edge of one of the wall sections is beveled to reduce the likelihood of the edge becoming snagged on an impacting vehicle. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first and second wall sections are secured to the first and second platforms by an additional matching tongue and groove. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first and second wall sections have a height of at least about 4 feet from a bottom edge to a top edge. 11. A system, comprising: (a) first and second platforms comprising at least one set of wheels; and (b) a safety wall comprising a first wall section engaged with the first platform, a second wall section engaged with the second platform and at least one additional wall section; wherein the first wall section, the second wall section and the at least one additional wall section are interconnected by a matching tongue and groove; wherein the first wall section, the second wall section and the at least one additional wall section defining an area protected from a vehicular incursion; wherein the matching tongue and groove permits the first wall section, the second wall section and the at least one additional wall section to move linearly relative to one another; and wherein a weight of the first wall section, the second wall section and the at least one additional wall section is at least partially offset by a ballast box that is movable, along a fixed path via rails, from one side of the first platform or the second platform to another side.
