Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A graphical user interface having a portion of an orthopedic system displayed on an electronic display. Where the graphical user interface displays: a parameter of the orthopedic system; a portion of an orthopedic insert; and a parameter of the orthopedic insert. Where in response to detecting movement of the orthopedic system the displayed portion of the orthopedic system is moved, a change of the parameter of the orthopedic system is displayed, and a change in parameter of the orthopedic insert is displayed.

What is claimed is: 1. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising: a portion of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display; and a parameter of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display, where a tracking system in the prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data where in response to detecting movement of the prosthetic component the displayed portion of the prosthetic component is moved, a change of the parameter of the prosthetic component is measured, and a change in parameter of the prosthetic component is displayed. 2. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 , where the parameter of the orthopedic system is at least one of CP Rotation, A-P slope, flexion angle, tibial rotation, or tibia angle. 3. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 where the tracking system is non-visual. 4. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 , where the parameter of the prosthetic component is a medial contact location displayed as a symbol or area of contact on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component. 5. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 , where the parameter of the prosthetic component is a lateral contact location displayed as a symbol or area of contact on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component. 6. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 , where the parameter of the prosthetic component is at least one of a medial contact load displayed as a range on a display or a lateral contact load displayed as a range on a display. 7. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 further including: displaying a dial that moves in response to the movement of the orthopedic system. 8. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 further including: changing the color of the displayed parameter of the orthopedic system when the value of the parameter of the orthopedic system is within a predetermined range of a target value of the parameter of the orthopedic system. 9. The graphical user interface according to claim 1 further including: changing the color of the displayed parameter of the prosthetic component when the value of the parameter of the prosthetic component is within a predetermined range of a target value of the parameter of the prosthetic component. 10. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising: a display region on the electronic display; a portion of a surface of the prosthetic component displayed within the display region where a tracking system in the prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data and where a position of applied load on the portion of the surface of the prosthetic component is displayed in the display region of the electronic display in real-time; a button displayed within the display region; a load indicator displayed within the display region; and a parameter of the tracking system is displayed within the display region, where a change in the tracking data is displayed in real-time. 11. The graphical user interface where the button displayed is at least one of a power button, an anatomical selection button, zeroing initiation button, signal indicator button, a track button, a clear button, and an align button. 12. The graphical user interface according to claim 11 , where the button is an anatomical selection button, where upon selection by a user using a computer interface, a zeroing initiation button changes color, shape, or is highlighted in the display region. 13. The graphical user interface according to claim 10 , where a needle point graphic is displayed in the displayed in the display region to track movement of the prosthetic component. 14. The graphical user interface according to claim 10 , where a magnitude of applied load on the portion of the surface of the prosthetic component is displayed using a bar graph and where a color of the bar graph indicates if the magnitude of the applied load is within an acceptable range. 15. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising: a display region on the electronic display; a portion of a surface of the prosthetic component displayed within the display region where a tracking system in the prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data, where rotation of the prosthetic component can be measured from the tracking data, and where a contact rotation value of the prosthetic component is indicated in the display region on the electronic display; a button displayed within the display region; a load indicator displayed within the display region; and a parameter of the tracking system is displayed within the display region, where a change in the tracking data is displayed in real-time. 16. The graphical user interface according to claim 15 , further comprising an anatomical image display in the display region corresponding to a prosthetic joint where the anatomical image is positioned corresponding to the prosthetic joint. 17. The graphical user interface according to claim 16 , where an angle of the prosthetic joint is calculated from the tracking data, where an angle value is displayed in the display region of the display, and where the angle value changes as the prosthetic joint is moved. 18. The graphical user interface according to claim 15 , where the position of the prosthetic component is positioned in a reference position and where the contact point rotation value is zero at the reference position.
