There is provided an EL display device of a color filter system which obtains sufficient brightness and contrast while making it difficult to generate a color mixture even if pixels become fine. An EL display device 100 according to the present invention includes a first substrate 1 , a circuit layer 2 formed on the first substrate 1 , a color selection reflection layer 11 formed in an upper layer of the circuit layer 2 , lower electrodes 5 formed in an upper layer of the color selection reflection layer 11 , a white light emission EL layer 7 formed in an upper layer of the lower electrodes 5 , an upper electrode 8 formed in an upper layer of the EL layer 7 , and a sealing layer 9 formed in an upper layer of the upper electrode 8.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. An EL display device comprising: a first substrate; and a plurality of pixels formed on the first substrate, each of the pixels including a circuit layer, a lower electrode, a light emission EL layer, an upper electrode, a reflection layer, a color filter and a sealing layer; wherein the circuit layer is formed on the first substrate; the lower electrode which functions as an anode is formed on the circuit layer; the upper electrode is formed on the lower electrode; the light emission EL layer is arranged between the lower electrode and the upper electrode; the reflection layer is arranged between the circuit layer and the lower electrode; the color filter is arranged between the reflection layer and the lower electrode; and a sealing layer is formed on the upper electrode to cover the plurality of pixels. 2. The EL display device according to claim 1 , further comprising: an upper color filters arranged on the sealing layer; and a second substrate having the upper color filters formed on a surface thereof. 3. The EL display device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a light absorbing layer formed on a lower layer of a color selection reflection layer. 4. The EL display device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a first protective layer formed between a color filters and the lower electrodes. 5. The EL display device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a second protective layer formed between the sealing layer and an upper color filters.
