A zinc titanate reactive adsorbent comprising multiphase, polycrystalline nanofibers comprising ZnTiO 3 , ZnO, TiO 2 , and Zn 2 TiO 4 .
Opening claim text (preview).
We claim: 1. A zinc titanate reactive adsorbent comprising multiphase, polycrystalline nanofibers comprising ZnTiO 3 , ZnO, TiO 2 , and Zn 2 TiO 4 , and having a diameter ranging from 350 to 800 nm, the nanofibers further comprising primary fibers having a second ratio Zn/Ti and secondary nanorods having a first ratio Zn/Ti branching off from the primary fibers, the first ratio Zn/Ti being greater than the second ratio Zn/Ti. 2. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 1 wherein the nanofibers are in the form of a nanofiber mat. 3. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 1 , wherein the nanofibers comprise a hierarchical nanostructure when sulfided. 4. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 3 , wherein the hierarchical nanostructure comprises wurtzite. 5. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 1 , wherein the secondary nanorod branching is anisotropic. 6. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 2 , wherein the nanofibers in the nanofiber mat are electro spun nanofibers. 7. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 1 , wherein the nanofibers have a surface area of 90.2 to 151.7 m 2 /g. 8. The zinc titanate reactive adsorbent of claim 1 , wherein the nanofibers comprise grains having Feret diameters of 15 to 200 nm.
