What is claimed is: 1. An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. 2. The polypeptide of claim 1 , having an mRNA interferase activity. 3. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence is at least 99% identical to the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. 4. The polypeptide of claim 3 , wherein the amino acid sequence comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. 5. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide has an activity of cleaving an RNA sequence having the target sequence of UUACUCA. 6. A composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 1 and a carrier. 7. A kit comprising the polypeptide of claim 1 and a buffer.
