Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A slide rail assembly for a rack system is installed to a chassis. The chassis includes a first chassis and a second chassis. The slide rail assembly includes an outer rail and an inner rail. The inner rail is movably connected to the outer rail. The first chassis of the chassis is installed to the inner rail, and the second chassis of the chassis is movably connected to the inner rail. The second chassis is movable relative to the first chassis to adjust the total length of the chassis.

What is claimed is: 1. A slide rail assembly adapted to be installed to a chassis, the chassis comprising a first chassis and a second chassis, the first chassis having a retaining member, the second chassis having a sliding member, wherein the slide rail assembly comprises: an outer rail; an inner rail longitudinally movable relative to the outer rail and having a top wall, a bottom wall and a side wall, the side wall connected between the top and bottom walls and having at least one fixing portion and at least one sliding portion, the at least one fixing portion including a first installation hole and a retaining hole, the first installation hole communicating with the retaining hole and having a diameter larger than a diameter of the retaining hole such that the retaining member of the first chassis is allowed to be inserted in the at least one fixing portion via the first installation hole and be further shifted to the retaining hole, the at least one sliding portion including a second installation hole and a slot, the second installation hole communicating with the slot and having a diameter larger than a width of the slot such that the sliding member of the second chassis is allowed to be inserted in the at least one sliding portion via the second installation hole and be further shifted to the slot; and a first positioning member connected to the side wall of the inner rail and located corresponding to the at least one fixing portion of the inner rail, the first positioning member having a resilient section extending contiguously to a contact portion, the contact portion overlapping at least a portion of the first installation hole and terminating at an edge configured to maintain the retaining member at least partially engaged with the retaining hole. 2. A slide rail assembly comprising: an outer rail having a top plate, a bottom plate and a side plate, the side plate connected between the top plate and the bottom plate; an inner rail longitudinally movable relative to the outer rail and having a top wall, a bottom wall and a side wall, the side wall connected between the top and bottom walls, the side wall of the inner rail having at least one fixing portion and at least one sliding portion, the at least one fixing portion including a first installation hole and a retaining hole, the first installation hole communicating with the retaining hole and having a diameter larger than a diameter of the retaining hole, the at least one sliding portion including a second installation hole and a slot, the second installation hole communicating with the slot and having a diameter larger than a width of the slot, wherein a length of the slot is longer than a length of the retaining hole; and a first positioning member connected to the side wall of the inner rail, the first positioning member having a resilient section extending contiguously to a contact portion, the contact portion overlapping at least a portion of the first installation hole and terminating at an edge configured to maintain the retaining member at least partially engaged with the retaining hole. 3. The assembly as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising a middle rail movably connected between the outer and inner rails such that the inner rail is allowed to move away from the outer rail in cooperation with the relative movement between the middle rail and the outer rail. 4. A rack system comprising: a rack having a first post, a second post, a third post and a fourth post; a first slide rail assembly connected between the first and second posts; a second slide rail assembly connected between the third and fourth posts, wherein at least one of the first and second slide rail assemblies includes an outer rail and an inner rail, the inner rail movably connected to the outer rail such that the inner rail is allowed to move toward or away from the outer rail to adjust a length of the at least one of the first and second slide assemblies, the inner rail having at least one fixing portion and at least one sliding portion and a first positioning member; and a chassis connected between the first and second slide rail assemblies, the chassis including a first chassis and a second chassis, the first chassis connected to the at least one fixing portion of the inner rail by a retaining member, the second chassis movably connected to the at least one sliding portion of the inner rail by a sliding member such that the second chassis is allowed to slide toward or away from the first chassis, the fixing portion of the inner rail including a first installation hole and a retaining hole, the first installation hole communicating with the retaining hole and having a diameter larger than a diameter of the retaining hole, the first positioning member connected to a side wall of the inner rail and having a resilient section extending contiguously to a contact portion, the contact portion overlapping at least a portion of the first installation hole and terminating at an edge configured to maintain the retaining member at least partially engaged with the retaining hole. 5. The rack system as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the at least one sliding portion has a second installation hole and a slot, the second installation hole communicating with the slot and having a diameter larger than a width of the slot. 6. The rack system as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the at least one sliding portion has a stop portion, and the stop portion contacts and stops the at least one sliding member when the second chassis slides away from the first chassis to reach a maximum extended position.
