A method for protecting a tire against punctures includes: providing a self-sealing layer; providing an anti-tack layer that includes particles having a shape factor higher than 5; forming a tire such that the self-sealing layer is built into the tire during manufacture of the tire; and applying the anti-tack layer a radially internal surface of the self-sealing layer.
